It takes a lot to drag me away from my garden in the summer, but the opportunity to visit my sister Kaeylea in Ireland and see my brother Kevin, who is visiting at the same time, was too good to pass up. So, today I thought I’d share some of what I’m doing to prepare the garden for a week long trip to Ireland.

OYR is all about growing a lot of food on a little land using sustainable organic methods, while keeping costs and labor at a minimum. Emphasis is placed on improving soil quality with compost, mulch, and compost tea. No store-bought fertilizers, soil amendments, pesticides, compost activators, etc. are used.
