One Year in My Vegetable Garden



One year working in my vegetable garden – building trellises for blackberries, raspberries, and special DIY trellises for cucumbers and grape vine; DIY durable and cheap garden beds, making free DIY organic fertilizer, and hot composting, planting, caring and having fun in my garden accompanied by my cats; finally, enjoying the fruits of my labor – my garden harvest.

    This year has not been a great year for growing a vegetable garden here in my village – there has been too much rain during spring, June and July, and then no rain for more than 2 months. My garden has also suffered because of hail this summer. Despite these not so favorable conditions the garden has offered me a satisfying crop and I have also learned a lot about gardening this year. Part of my garden journey and story is also building my dream greenhouse. I will share that story with you in my next video. Growing a vegetable garden is an art that requires much time, work, skills and knowledge. I am far from being an artist at it, but I hope I will become a skillful gardener one day.

    Some of you might be wondering who is the man that helped me with the heavy grape vine trellis – he is one of my relatives, lives in the same village and is also the man that taught me how to weld. I am very grateful for what I have learned from him and I thank him again for his precious help. I also wish to thank my beloved mama, the guardian angel of my garden, whose advice I always ask for when caring for my garden. I have inherited her love for plants and gardening and I am very grateful for that.

    Сколько смотрю, не устаю восхищаться вашим трудолюбием, упорством, хорошим вкусом и жизнелюбием. Чувствую приток жизненных сил, когда смотрю на вас. Так и хочется сотворить что-нибудь этакое, значительное или просто красивое. У нас в России в большинстве краёв похолодало и сезон посадок закончился. А на будущий планирую соорудить такую же грядку. Вот именно такую. Мира вам и домашнего тепла.
