  1. Sometimes words are hard…. Lol, you normally do so well. Oh well, you are human, just proved it :). Love you guys. Thank you

  2. I agree 100% with your Moms theory! I agree with you and Laura too about having good kids, you guys sure do! ❤

  3. I so agree on the communication with having a job done. I had 1000 feet of chain link fencing installed and clearly remember saying black fencing. He gave me the quote on paper I did not proof the details and I drove up to the 1/2 of the fencing polls installed to discover it is silver. UGH it was a very expensive lesson. I think of it every time I go out and see my shiny silver fence. 😢

  4. I love your thoughts on asking yourself if you yourself were to blame for not communicating etc. I have 6 sons and 4 daughter in laws whom I love dearly. The worst nightmare for me would be to not have them love or respect me back. I had (she passed) a mother in law who was the epitome of kindness, love and acceptance. I try to ask myself what she would do when I am interacting with my DIL. Learning to communicate the first utterance so not to be misunderstood is absolutely the most essential thing for happiness.

  5. Laura please put that out in your yard.. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that arbor!! So beautiful, Aaron, you better be good or you’ll make the naughty list!! 😂

  6. always enjoy making time to listen to the weekly recap. I listen like a podcast while cleaning/cooking etc. love hearing Aaron and Laura’s family discussions (like whether to keep old scrapwood) they’re just the best …. they’re so real, down to earth and give us a feel of their/your family dynamic. always keep those discussions in the recap because I’m not sure I can explain it well enough but they’re thoroughly enjoyable.
all the best. much love and light.

  7. Living in Australia the zone thing always gets me. There are so many websites giving us different zones. I have come to the conclusion that if you like it plant it within reason., some plants may surprise you. I have grown things where I live that I thought would not survive and they have. I think especially when you have lots of trees and plants you produce mini micro climates that maybe should be taken into consideration. I would love to see you try an olive tree outside, I have known them to grow in freezing conditions. Even would be interested if purple fountain grass would survive, we don’t get as cold as you but we do get good frosts, I cut my fountain grass back to the ground cover it with sugar cane mulch and it comes back every year. Trying plants out of your zone would be interesting experiments. 😊

  8. 💚 💜 Im so sure your Lisianthus will do great! Hehe I just ordered my seeds today, so the second there here they are going in its home! I love how I can comment while I watch your video. I seen these combines being used on the channel Don't eat the grass. Thanks for the video!❤

  9. Obviously your not the one washing your floors. You have a nanny/ house cleaner so why would you be worried about keeping the floor clean

  10. Hi Laura and Aaron! My husband and I have downsized but we had property in the country when we were raising our 4 kids. Raising the kids in the country was THE best. Anyway, we were watching this week’s highlights and my husband, an rv enthusiast, suggests the Laveo dry flush toilet until you can have plumbing put in for a bathroom. He says you can by it through Home Depot😮. I love all you do. Thank you both for all your hard work!

  11. I’m seeing your beautiful coffee mug that has the thin lip around the top. I know that’s the type you prefer. Could you consider selling one on your store with your Garden Answer logo? I would love that!

  12. Regarding the comment about the children playing with sticks around each other's head area, I agree that's fine if you both allow it – they are your children. As long as they know that when they're around other people's children that it is not allowed. Head area is off limits.

  13. Laura the shelf life of the Gnatrol granular is 2 years Laura, according to the manufacturer Gnatrol should be stored in a cool, dry place between 59ºF – 86ºF (15ºC – 30ºC). Liquid formulation has a shelf life of about 1 year and granular 2 years. Expect reduced effectiveness after prolonged storage of Bt-based products.

  14. I host every year for my youngest son and 10 of his friends/wives on Friday after thanksgiving. They are now in their early 30’s. They all pretty much grew up at my house during junior high and high school. I make all of the food and desserts and only have one oven. It’s a lot but they tell me they look forward to my cooking once a year. I enjoy doing it for them too.

  15. Hi Laura- Had to laugh at your descriptions of cooking with a “camper-size” stove/oven, as Aaron called it. I, too, have been living with one that size and making the best of it until a renovation some day, but man, those Turkey dinners for a crowd are DEFINITELY a challenge aren’t they? Can’t wait til I can someday bake with a full-sized cookie sheet lol! Makes us more creative cooks, I figure! Enjoy your Christmas season 😊

  16. The look on Aaron's face when he said you are stealing someone else's joy! Laura's 2024 new year's resolution: Use those iron gates and make Aaron eat his words! You're right Laura, that was hard, but the two of you are totally adorable together. I love the banter.💗

  17. Children paying with sticks and no eye protection is not a good thing. I think you and your husband were rude to the person who showed concern

  18. That would be a great idea about planting the new USDA zone plants as an experiment. Where I live in Florida I am zone 8b but since the update I am on the borderline of being 9a. The south end of the county where I used to live is now 9a. I too wonder about it because I really want to plant some plants and especially trees that require the chill hours of 8b, as well as plants that can't take more than 8b heat and humidity. I know from my research that USDA bases the zones on the weather of 10 year data so that is what it is based on but who knows what this crazy weather is going to do the next ten years. In my memory of living in Florida since 1993 to me it seems the last few years we are having extremes of hot and cold earlier and later in the seasons. Also usually this is our dry spell but we been getting a lot more rain than usual.

  19. Homemade chicken noodles is a tradition in our family too! We are in Idaho Falls❤ I just love all of your videos. Thank you

  20. Aaron, about the weather station rain data, how does it record that? Do you also have the regular old fashioned rain gauges set up to check against the weather station data? After Laura commented on it seeming like so much rain it made me wonder how that weather station measures. I'm wondering if the weather station measure how much it soaks into the ground vs a regular rain gauge of what fell from the sky.

  21. Aaron, please ask your questions on the YouTube comment section, then if it’s chosen Laura will answer your question. 😅😅😅😊

  22. We are part of a volunteer weather nationwide collection that makes it easy to accumulate a weather history overtime. It's through Colorado State University. CoCoRahs

  23. Brittany was so helpful, when we passed through Ontario, in helping select bulbs for a gardening friend. Everyone was so nice and helpful.

  24. Your immune system is great because you don't live sterile. Exposure to germs keeps your immune system on high alert and therefore healthy. No exposure, no immune system

  25. I LOVE ALL your videos. Especially the highlights. I learn so many things and I’ve been gardening for 50 years. I especially like how you and Aaron “discuss” your differences of how you want to do something. Today it was Laura wants to repurpose something and Aaron wants the repurpose piles to be tidied up or tossed out. Y’all discuss/argue but have a slight smile. 😀I love how Laura repurposes but I can also see how it could turn in to clutter. But, Wow, he found a hook he needed because Laura’s mom had saved misc hooks. And, here
    Unposed that hook. ❤

  26. I’ve been watching my salt intake, but after today’s conversation ,I’m going to have to go completely salt free for a few days …😂😂 Salty 😂😂

  27. Aaron at it again giving Laura trouble about the old rusty gate she won’t get rid of 😂😂
