The weather is amazing, the birds are singing and the highway is loud as ever, time to get our hands dirty in the garden! As you probably have noticed, we’ve found all kinds of stuff in and around the house. Many of those things are car or motorcycle related parts. Well… I think you can guess what were about to discover today.

My name is Sam and together with my girlfriend Lyanne, I am on a quest to restore the beauty of this old Italian villa from 1895. Join us as we have to let go of our Dutch habits to fit in in our Italian surroundings, were the word ‘plan’ gets redefined and our tastebuds are awakened.
The goal of this project is to show that with limited financial means and a lot of optimism we can resurrect the beauty of this abandoned villa in a green and sustainable way. But most of all learn from everything that we encounter and enjoy it whilst we’re at it.

  1. Why would you have your toilet waste empty into a fresh water river. Why not a septic tank?๐Ÿ˜ข

  2. Love the videos, I hope you are taking precautions against any snakes…I guess vipers are a real danger in Italy. Wonder what the scrap value of the car is. Bet there is a story there.

  3. Even if you are doing it yourself, you'd certainly benefit by using the more appropriate hand tools (like using a pointed spade digging a hole, rather than a squared shovel).

  4. The most wonderful thing: boys and girls working together to accomplish their dream! No matter it will take some time! Congratulations for all of you!

  5. The shovel you are using is not designed for this type of work. Ive tried sending a link to more practical style but youtube block posting. If you know of another way to communicate let me know. Failing that the shovel is called a ROUGHNECK ROUND HEAD LONG-HANDLED DIGGING SHOVEL. While yes its to dig, the design makes it so much easier to get under the vegatation. As the pointed over flat edge gives you far more leverage

  6. Im appalled as you are. The city should've been up on making pre ious owner to clean their property. Certainly clean before selling

  7. Wow great progress. It will be very satisfying to get rid of all the rubbish into the container. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

  8. I am watching from Penticton B.C Canada and I want to say you are doing a Fantastic job , just think how lovely your garden will be when you are finished .

  9. Wow, that is a lot of trash all over your land! I'm glad you had hard working friends to help you clean that mess up!

  10. 22 episodes of gardening and cleaning.

Id love to see you guys actually build something, or at least speed up the gardening and cleaning a bit, I have seen quite a lot of it now…

  12. I bet for decades people on that highway have looked upon your Villa with intrigue and fascination. It is one of those landmarks, right off the road, which many are familiar with, but have always wondered what is the story.

  13. I would be tempted to rent a small digger/ripper to get rid of overgrowth and trash. However, the way you are doing it will keep you fit.

  14. Maybe by the end of renovation you could camouflage the highway and neighbors with tall landscaping?

  15. It is a very nice house and in very good condition. I doubt someone would be interested in buying it because of the location after your renovation.

  16. Would you consider installing tanks to collect rain water for toilets, washing machine, etc. ?
Are you able to collect some of the passing rain water?

  17. New subscriber here, it's great to have friends to help. Best of luck to you.

  18. Sam & Lyanne, along with your friends are all working very hard in the garden, resulting in a huge difference In each episode. We can all see the potential for this villa. Nice to see you all having fun as well. Always look forward to each vlog.

  19. It's hard to believe just how much debris you guys pulled out of the garden. It makes you wonder if people took advantage of it being abandoned and maybe used it as a tip. It's going to be exciting to see it come back to being a beautiful garden again.๐Ÿ‘โค

  20. You can feline it as someone suggested , a specialist company would "blow" a double skinned plastic pipe along the length which is filled with resin , air pressure keeps it against the pipe wall when the resin has cured you have a new pipe .
