Edible Gardening

How to be more self-sufficient, book recommendations {Roots and Refuge book collab}

hello friends, today’s video is a book recommendation list in collaboration with Roots and Refuge farm (one of my favorite homesteading YouTubers)

These are the books I recommend for anyone who is interested in gardening, preserving your own food and wants to be more self-sufficient and self-reliant.

I’m the “by the book canner” I only can, tried and true, tested recipes.

I own two Ball canning books

Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving

The All New Ball Book Of Canning And Preserving: Over 350 of the Best Canned, Jammed, Pickled, and Preserved Recipes

I love gardening, and while I don’t raise any animals, yet (I’m coming for you chickens!). I find these books very useful in terms of gardening and planning for the future.

The Backyard Homestead: Produce all the food you need on just a quarter acre! edited by Carleen Madigan

The Self-Sufficient Home: How to Provide for Your Family and Prepare for the Unexpected by Nancy Hoffman

The Essential Book of Homesteading by Ashley English

Edible Wild Plants: Eastern/Central North America (Peterson Field Guides)

If you are interested in these books check out ebay or other discount book retailers, save your dough!
