End Of YEAR 2023 – GARDEN REVIEW

The garden is about to give up its winter ghost. So before the first frost comes, I’m getting what remains that I can use out of the garden.

  1. I’ve never tried growing sorghum but I have seeds in case I decide to try it.

  2. A LOT OF FOLKS HERE ARE USEING FOR JARS LIDS THERE LIKE THE CANNING LIDS WHEN WE WERE KIDS THERE GREAT THE PROBLEM IS ITS AN AMERICAN OWNED COMPANY BUT THE PRODUCT IS FROM CHINA. AND I SEEN A LOT OF SUBERPE BRAND CNNING LIDS BEING USED THIS YEAR AS WELL

  3. I got the American Homestead seed pack from Clearwater Valley Farms. Did my first garden this year. My Papalo got like 9' tall

  4. Red Gorilla tub trugs are THE BEST for all sorts of things. I use them in the house, in the garden, in the barns, etc. I use the ~4 gallon size for heavier / more dense garden things (like tomatoes) and the bigger sizes for lighter garden things (herbs … or weeds). I use them inside for processing produce or herbs – they are flexible and make it easy to pour or funnel into jars, pots, strainers, etc. We use bigger ones for water in the barn yard. Smaller ones for feed or to scoop and/or pour feed.
Anyway… I just love them and they last "forever".
I'll be getting all I can out of the garden tomorrow, Yah willing. There's mostly just herbs and tomatoes left by now. And some seeds.

  5. What a crock!! Green toms are the best!! Anyone saying all tht crap needs ur stupid should hurt shirt as a reminder!! I prefer gr toms over tomatillo as tomatillos are too sweet for my taste. Your verda looks great!! 😊

  6. Hey Zach, just curious are you and Marella still together as you have not mentioned her in quite some time but did refer to yourself as a single dad recently. I know you don't have to disclose that personal informatuon but she was in a video or two and I was wondering what happened with her.

  7. We had a quick frost here, nothing got messed up but my basil. I did not do that great with my garden this year. I rushed to get things in the ground and pretty much missed all spring planting. But I got herbs, roma tomatoes, 3 kinds of peppers and cut flowers. I gotta build some raised beds for root vegetables for next year. I got a horrible mole problem.

  8. Hiking permits. The idea you need a permit to do anything is stupid. Ignore the government, listen to nothing it says because its members are stupid people.

  9. It just killed me that you left the smaller green tomatoes. I could have done so much. Then I thought…Kay stop worrying about green tomatoes when we are loosing our freedom. Putting things into perspective Zac.

  10. I am sad to see what is happening to our country.
The electro culture was a fail for me.
Yes I am 70 and never had as many canning lid fails as this year all were ball lids.

  11. I’m 72 years old and been eating fried green tomatoes since my teeth came in. Also green salsas and what do these people think chow-chow is made of. If we have a nuclear war, only cockroaches and stupid will survive.

  12. Wow I’ve never heard this about green tomatoes. I don’t care for them, but a lot of people in Indiana grew up eating fried green tomatoes.
