I will take you for a little tour of our cottage garden, in today’s cozy vlog. And some thrift shopping, a haul, preserving the harvest, and baking.

Slow living isn’t a trend for me. It’s a lifestyle I have embraced for years; I learned it from my mom and grandma. We always just took our time to enjoy the beauty of the everyday. I’m a romantic at heart, with a practical lifestyle approach to “keep it simple.” I grew up on a farm, which furthered my love of simplicity and back to the basics mindset.

We moved six months ago to our cozy cottage, and we are in the process of fixing it up. I strive to make our home cozy and inviting no matter what remodeling stage we are in. Making a home hygge and cozy is just a normal way of life for me, and I can’t imagine it any other way.

    Hi Abby Jo! I am so behind in everything I have not even watched this video until now. As always, its such a pleasure watching your videos. You got so much done. My poor health gets in my way a lot, otherwise I would be an a busier bee. I live in an urban area where there is pressure to keep up with grass and shrub trimming over gardening, which takes a toll on me as I am not always well. I want to transition away from grass upkeep to have just gardening. Seems like a big ambition.
    I have to try to grow more in the garden.

    Your daughter’s flowers are gorgeous! I was hoping she or you can organize a seed exchange. You already have viewers. So the community can all share for free. What do you think? I would love a mix of those flowers your daughter grew! Or any veggie seeds.
    I LOVE your thrift hauls. I get poor pickings here where I live. But I was excited to find a vintage garlic press, a butter bell, some Corningware similar to what my mom had, and a potato box keeper which I restored. I still pine on finding a criss stitch tablecloth, and linens.
    You get excellent prices in thrifting. Here in Canada, we are suffering a lot on every front. Inflation has unnecessarily seeped into second hand stores, which is taxed, and the dollar stores. But it is still better than buying new.
    I definitely will try your pumpkin chocolate muffin recipe! your yogurt cake was excellent! I also need to try your rhubarb crisp soon as I harvested all the rhubarb.
    Thank you for such a soothing wonderful peak into your fall days.

    Absolutely love your videos! Learn something each time you post! Love your thrift shopping and you talking about your books just the way you live your life and you are so calming! Some videos show themselves brushing their teeth and combing their hair doing their laundry! Your content is nothing like that! Wish you could post more!     Your kitchen is like a treasure cave full of exciting gadgets. You have to stop making me jealous 😊. Re cabbage – that is the biggest cabbage I have ever seen in my life. I do my own sauerkraut but never tried to do it with red. Is there any difference in taste ? ❤
