in todays episode I tackle more of the garden. I purchase my autumn compost, for Mulching the no dig raised beds, to sow seeds for autumn and winter harvests and some for January and February sowings.. which will be the tomatoes, onion seeds and chillies.
I also bark mulch all the paths using the free bark, the allotment site gets given for free by the tree surgeons that prune the boundary trees.
I also swap a small bay tree for a ladder. I don’t need my small.bay tree as I’ve been given a huge bay tree. I also come over at night and re-wire the polytunnel. Connecting the polytunnel to the off-grid solar panel system. I can now garden at night! I also plan on how to plant out the polytunnel for winter. The Harvests are less than abundant at this time of year, but there’s still plenty to harvest.

I'm envious of you clearing and making plans for the future. I'm in limbo with the plot, We've put an offer in to buy the allotment site and are waiting to see if the offer is accepted and if we can stay on site, the landowners solicitors are supposed to be getting back to us by tomorrow 16/10, and letting us know if accepted that we can stay on the plots while we have six months to raise the funds or if we have to vacate by 1/11. It's a real state of limbo and it's not worth making plans for the future until we get confirmation, talk about taking it to the line!!
It's nice to start a fresh and have a good clean up. I can full on football stadium lights coming soon with nighttime videos incoming๐.
Great video Danny ๐.
Hi Danny, another fab video, thank you for sharing your plot with us.
I, personally, think its a good idea to have your lights on remote control. Eliminating the risk of falls after turning the lights off, then leaving the plot, would lessen the risk of falls or stepping on anything plant based or otherwise.
Have a great week xx
It's looking good for the coming season Danny, nothing like a good helping of fresh bark to tidy the plot up a bit ,I remember when Malcolm spent all that time doing his, looked brilliant afterwards, any news of him ? I often wonder how's he getting on ..
Two years watching your videos? I'll never get those viewing minutes back into my life ๐คฃ๐คฃ

Seems ages since your last video or is it me.Wish they were longer……thankyou for sharing Danny โค
Good idea putting a sitting area by the pond it's a really nice spot with them views โค
Plot looks fabulous with the new paths ๐ Worth checking the bags of bark in the polytunnel in case they start composting? Remember Mr Kingswell had that issue on his plot one time, though he had a big tonne bag of spare for an area, maybe by his water butts/tanks.
The plot looks so lovely with all the fresh bark. It is now looking autumnal. The ladder is a great addition, always useful. Fantastic lighting at night๐๐๐๐ธ
and sob the strip down begins mate. great video
Wow, what a difference it makes when you refresh your bark paths Danny……really smart. I agree that its so lovely to have a sense of community on allotment sites……we are the same on ours….we help each other out. I definitely would put a raised bed along side the polytunnel and path and would create a lovely boundary to your plot. Have a great week….Will๐ช๐ป
How is Malcolm, really miss him. But love your channel too ๐
Moving the garden bed from side of the pond is a good idea the seating would be great to just relax over there and the garden is also looking great
Looks awesome!
bugger, i missed 4.20K ๐คฃ๐คฃ cognates on the 4.21K subs already Danny ๐๐
The lights are a great idea, especially remote control!
Hi there ๐ New subscriber here from Melbourne Straya! I'm actually English, so it's great to see what's going on back home ๐
New youtube account, couldn't remember your channel name.
Found it quite hard to find your channel, as you didn't appear on the "Allotment" youtube search, maybe worth including "Allotment" in your titles?
Hi Danny, you have been very busy clearing and mulching too. I love this time of year, getting ready for the Winter & planning for the new season too. Thanks for sharing and take care ๐
That's the great thing about a garden. You can always shift and move things to suit. Everything is coming to an end for my outdoor growing season, as well. Soon I'll start with simple indoor growing, like sprouts and microgreens. I can't believe your channel is only 2 years old. I think I must have started watching fairly early days. Not complaining a bit, I love watching your gardens progress.
Hello Danny, I do love to woodchip the paths especially when it starts to get wet under foot. I personally don't know why more people aren't subscribing to you. I will only be buying 2 bags of compost for next season, almost self-sufficient. Nice title, just need Allotment in the title for the Youtube search.
โป๏ธHappy gardening, Terry King.
Aww it's so sad clearing everything away from summer, I did the same at the weekend too. But doesnt it look smart afterwards! Hope you're well ๐
I love a freshly mulched path. I have this horrid like sedge grass still coming up though mine and need to take the tops off and re mulch them I think. They are emote green than brown at the moment. Love all your plans and your enthusiasm for the winter growing is great. I will hopefully do some clearing of my own tomorrow and take down my arches as strong winds are forecast. We have also had a light frost which is super early for my area of Surrey. I hope, the rest of my chillis gets to ripen before much longer.
Great update Danny and lots of work done! Good job ๐
13:24 why don't you put some peas or beans along that side? Be lovely to walk into all the greenery ๐ฑ
Love those views ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ beautiful
Try and make your own fat balls for the birds with left over fruit bits, loads cheaper than having to buy bird food all the time
But plots looking great. ๐ฉ๐ผโ๐พ Rach
Hey Danny what about growing herbs in that long narrow spot near the tunnel, they can cope better ok when not in full sun??? I can remember your first videos, that wasnโt two years ago was it ๐ฎ. You should be proud of your plot and yourself at how far youโve come in two years, great job Danny ๐๐โฅ๏ธ
