Gary Pilarchik: MFG 2016: Principles of Acclimating Indoor Vegetable Seed Starts to the Sun: SLOWLY!

When your seed starts are growing indoors 4, 6, 8-10 weeks, they haven’t learned what the sun is and don’t have protection against it. They haven’t put on their sun screen. The sun will bleach out and burn your transplant’s leaves. You have to slowly acclimate your indoor plant to the outdoor sun over a 7 day period generally speaking.
