Edible Gardening

Nomadic Farming | Leaving the Oregon Farm for Fall on the Road

Saying a very hard goodbye to the farm as I leave to start another season of nomadic living on the road in my van. As a farmer and a nomad, the end of each chapter is never easy. Join me as I talk about the nature of nomadic farming and say goodbye to all the plants, flowers, and food I’ve been growing and eating over throughout this wonderful work season in Oregon. This has been a plant lady garden foodie dream, living close to nature, gardening every day, foraging in the forest, and farming in beautiful natural landscapes. I’m so grateful this job brought me to the pacific northwest this summer, gifting me so much learning opportunity, fresh organic produce, new friends and a chance to soak up a local community and landscape between adventures to the coast and mountains. Cooking with the freshest seasonal veggies, experimenting project in the kitchen, and having more vegetables and fruits than I knew what to do with. This has been a special time of my life that I will cherish forever, but I must embrace change as I transition back into full time travel for the fall season. Join me as I explore new places and my favorite mountain spots for autumn. Here’s to more farms, planting seasons, flower gardens, greenhouse work, and fresh food adventures to come.

Being a nomad naturalist enables me to reconnect with nature in a whole new way. I hope to inspire this inner peace and happiness in others through a closer relationship with mama nature, through healthy eating, outdoor recreation, edible food gardening/farming, and sustainable living. Youtube has enabled me to better educate and inspire from the road.

  3. You guys don’t know how much it means to me that you watch these videos! Everyone is into the glamorous travel videos but this content is very important and dear to my heart. We can’t have adventures in nature without good food for fuel and sustainable farming methods for the health of the earth.

  4. Loved the video ❤. I had a smile the whole time, and really enjoyed the flowers and the other plants and you opening up about your homesteading and nomadic life feelings. Thank you so much, you made my day much better ❤

  5. You are truly gifted with your beautiful narrative. What a gorgeous life you've created from your heart. ❤

  6. As usual you have produced an excellent video with beautiful flowers, colorful scenery, and educational content, but my comments today are focused on the wise advice and wisdom you expressed when discussing changes. How things are always changing, how leaving and coming back is always an opening for a new experience, and how sad and difficult it can be to leave friends and experiences on your way to new adventures and new experiences with an expectation of joy. Your overall wisdom of life far exceeds your age but don't we know that has nothing to do with chronological age and everything to do with awareness. Great poets, philosophers, spiritual teachers and artists all have a highly elevated awareness in common and that is why millions of dollars have been spent seeking out the wisdom of wise men and women through books and film. Kaylan, you have a highly elevated awareness and your video's have a bountiful amount of purity and wisdom, with precious gifts of wise council for us now and for future generations of nature lovers . Keep on making them and Thank you. Namaste PS…Next time you see Uncle tell him I said hi..

  7. Is it goodbye, or see you later?? We, here in Oregon, will definitely miss you! –Well, the PNW, in general, fa sho! Safe travels, Kaylan!

  8. Could you do a video on safety? Like hiking safety, bear safety, camping alone safety etc.

  9. We have been gardening the past 2 years and can not believe how much we enjoy it. I feel so at peace, satisfaction and freedom with it🌾

We planted the 3 sisters in a garden bed last summer😋

Just finished reading Sweetgrass as well and thoroughly enjoyed it🥰

No matter what type of content you put out it never ceases to amaze me! You are so talented, kind, compassionate, funny, entertaining, beautiful…the list goes on and on🙏🌱🌻
