I’m at the end of my growing season and I’m considering building a greenhouse over my garden for next spring. I just don’t know if it’s right for my space. I don’t get a whole ton of full direct sun, but enough to grow whatever vegetables I plant. My hope is that I can provide an even better growing environment for my garden protected from critters, pests, and weeds. Could I be hindering my garden by covering it by reducing already limited direct sunlight? And how did pollination take place in a greenhouse? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you

You can only really plant self pollinating varieties in a greenhouse or hoop house garden. Garlic, onions. My greenhouse actually becomes too hot in the summer to use for veggies, and I put my cacti and tropical house plants in there instead. An unheated greenhouse is good for getting a head start on the season and extending the season in the fall. Pests could still be a problem tho; I’m currently fighting thrips and whiteflies in my greenhouse (I’m using predatory mites and it has been working) but there are a whole bunch of other challenges with greenhouse growing
