Wicked Stepmother, poison….is the stepmother the Evil Queen from Snow White or something?
So, is it just the step mother or is Jeffrey also part of killing both the father and daughter to get the money. The stepmother is obvious but the groom to be is acting suspiciously also….the illness, pushing to sign the prenup when she is dizzy and unable to read it. Victoria and Jeffrey seems to be working together, and possibly are together, or mother and son, just waiting to get their grubby hands on all her money. Run Forrest Run, or you will be joining both your parents in the afterlife. Glad she at least has Carter in her corner.

It's classic cheating spouse killing rich spouse and then trying to kill the child of the spouse while having an affair with child's partner. A definite cliche but put in a story like this without the normal life and other types of stressors that may confuse the intended victims into not finding out the truth.
Food poisoning normally last 24 to 48 hours or it kills you.
