Roots and Refuge Farm: Did I poison my chickens? (The mushroom garden & the pumpkin haul) | VLOG

Hey ya’ll, I’m Jess from Roots & Refuge Farm

Welcome to a place that feels like home. A small farm with a big family. We hope you’ll pull up a chair, grab some coffee and visit awhile.

There was a time that all I wanted in the world was a little farm where I could raise my family and grow our food. Now, that is exactly what exists outside my door. In watching it unfold, a new dream was formed in my heart – to share this beautiful life with others and teach them the lessons we’ve learned along the way. Welcome to our journey, friend. I am so glad you’re here.

  1. Jess the mushroom garden is SUPER cool!! Ive recently begun to learn and grow some too and its so fun! I love that Ben helped and liked doing so, such a great learning experience! I watch Wills channel too and its just fascinating! On another note Im so glad Bens foot is not broken! Thanks so myfor sharing ❤

  2. My son's friend, Flint, had a walking boot a little while ago because he was playing baseball and slipped on the soggy outfield in a weird way–he's healed now, but he kept his boot with lots of signatures!

  3. I almost snorffed ice tea when you were juggling eggs and camera and fence 😂 I catch myself at least 3x a week doing the same thing… Not 20ish anymore!!
My grandson filled his pockets with eggs a couple days ago, climbed over the fence…. I said "be super careful so you don't get pocket omelets!!" 😂 I so wish I could have captured the look on his face!!😳 "What's a pocket omelet?!?!?!?!?" 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

  4. Those viewers must have seen the same video I did recently. When I saw you throw those tomato plants to the chickens that was the first thing I thought of too but then I remembered who was doing this and thought…… she's got this!

  5. I use naturalwise chicken feed , i love the smells it reminds me of stuffing , my chickens are happy with their new feed , its hard caring for chickens , cleaning out their 💩 poo every morning, chickens need that clean water to like people ,everyday, it makes me feel so good, as a new chicken momma 😊

  6. I sprained my ankle last month, I'm older (57) I am wearing a ace bandage for awhile now. I am a slow healer. God Bless Ben. 💕🎉👍

  7. I am glad there is no broken bone. Ben is such a little cutie. Always wanting to help out in the garden.

Great pick on mushrooms. We tried a few years ago but no luck. I should try again.

  8. Ben, I don’t have a boot, but I have a “post-op shoe.” It’s kind of like a sandal with thick adjustable straps. I fell down the deck stairway at my sister’s house. Like you, I didn’t break any bones. I did loose the toenail on my big toe, though, and my feet and legs had lots of bruises. I’m better now, but my toenail will take a long time to grow back! I hope you can go back to wearing your regular shoes real soon!

  9. Hello Ben. Yes I have my first boot from a broken bone in my right foot. I am 67 years old, and it’s my first broken bone. So you are my kindred spirit little man. Great job on this video too ❤
