  1. I bought 2 of them, different sizes. I use it in the garden and to stir my compost they are great.
Just be careful where any water pipes, gas, or electrical stuff is underground.

  2. Zoe is so cute. You guy's are fun. Our growing season will be coming to a end in a month. I'm sad I do enjoy the flowers. I have lettuce growing to.

  3. Thank you for showing us this! I will have to ask my husband where ours are at.
I have a question. A summer squash plant that I planted in the spring and have gotten several yellow squash from, is now producing green squash. Do you have any clue why? I have no zucchini left for it to have maybe been cross pollinated with.
    Zoey is so adorable! 😊❀❀😊

  4. Can trimmed rose hips be planted right into the ground to grow new rose plants?

Is your little companion a puppy or an adult dog?

  5. I’ve thought about getting an auger, but put it off because I didn’t think I would use it enough. Now after watching your video, I see I can use it for a lot more than just planting. Thanks for sharing more great ideas!

  6. Wow! What a great tool to use. Thank you for this idea. Love little Zoe. Looks like she really is attached to you. Helps heal your heart. Been through that si many times. Take care and ❀❀❀❀❀ to everyone. We are having a heat wave this week. Feel like temos in 100s. Yuk.

  7. Best idea! However, I wouldn't get much accomplished. I would be too busy picking Zoe up and kissing her whole tiny face. πŸ˜†

  8. Great idea, Robbie!πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ This would be helpful to many folks who can't bend, have little hand strength, etc.πŸ‘πŸ’•

  9. That auger is going to be saving you time and your back . Zoe looks like she's fitting in just fine.

  10. I've got the big dwalt one. I can plant a 2 gallon plant with one of my augers. Another thing I love about it is I can mix my huge pile of compost with it. Also another recommendation is always try to water your soil before using it, makes the auger a little more effective imo. . I love your tip about making holes in a pot to rejuvenate it, excellent idea!

  11. Wow! Robbie!! You always have so many genius ideas!! I had to stop the video for a second to buy the auger for my drill!! Thank you!! GENIUS!!❀
Hi Zoe!!! She is so so cute!!❀

  12. Robbie how do you get big beautiful leaves from a dinasaur kale from cuttings? I made several cutting from the huge 2 year old plants last year and they took off and are all 3 feet tall. But all I get are 3-4” leaves. I miss the monster leaves. They are in big totes with good composted soil, and a big pitcher I put veggie scraps etc in. They also get comfrey tea regularly. I do have many seedlings fro the original plant that I let go to seed (it is 5 feet tall but only gives me small leaves) and I can start all over with those seedlings but I have perfectly good big plants that I hoped would give me the kind of lovely big leaves for cooking. I hope that makes sense. Thank you for all you do!

  13. Augers are great !!! Robbie , do you recommend a good source for ordering / purchasing Tree Collards ? I cannot find any sellers in my area .

  14. Another great idea, you are defiantly an endless source of ideas. Zoe is loving having a garden to run around in with you.

  15. Awesome idea! It would be so great to use to clean out weeds from the holes of cement blocks. Zoe is such a sweetheart ❀

  16. I used to have a hand-auger years ago (before someone thought of putting them on a drill), such a handy tool. It had a lot bigger drill bit, and so I could use it on potatoes and onions.
Not so useful where I live now, as my soil is so rocky and shallow –
But, I do the same kind of cutting technique with many of my plants.

If I want to introduce a pollinator-friendly shrub from one part of the garden to another, I don't mess around with putting cuttings in a pot of seed & cutting compost, rooting compound, caring for it through the winter in a greenhouse, etc.
I now wait until the Autumn prune, turning the prunings into cuttings, and putting them straight in the ground in a tight cluster exactly where I would like a few plants to grow.

I'm particularly keen on Buddleia at this time of year, so I often end up taking around 100-200 cuttings. And even thought only around 10% survive, that is still plenty for the needs of my bees and butterflies (we had an exceptional year for Red Admiral butterflies this year, really happy about that).
Direct planting of cuttings saves heaps of time, and even though a number will die off, the dead stems protect the living ones from animals moving about and disturbing them at a delicate stage, when the roots are just beginning to form.

    Hi to Puppy!❀❀

  17. I’ve been thinking about ordering one of these. Thanks for the recommendation. It would be great for so many uses. ❀

  18. Robbie I bought one of these tools too! I haven't used it yet. I'm so happy you made this video, thank you so much. Love & light
