Cherokee Purple is a tomato that many people speak highly, both for size and taste. I decided to give it a try, and put a few of them in the dutch bucket setup. Early on, they had some huge flower clusters, which turned out to be mega-blooms. I picked the biggest one, and wow was it ugly. But after slicing into it, I realized that the folks were right. It’s a very good eating tomato. And for something so ugly, it turned out to be my heaviest tomato ever. As the saying goes… ” it’s what’s inside that counts”. 🙂
