🌿 Autumn Lawn Care Guide: 7 Tips for a Perfect Lawn πŸ‚

With autumn around the corner and summer fading away, now is the ideal moment to give your lawn some much-needed TLC. In this video, we’ll dive into seven simple lawn care tips to ensure your grass is lush and healthy throughout the season.

🌱 Tip 1: Mowing Matters 🚜

Is it okay to mow your lawn in September? Absolutely! Regular mowing is key to a beautiful lawn. Avoid the mistake of letting your grass grow too tall and then chopping it down. Instead, adopt the practice of consistent, regular mowing. Choose a mowing height that suits your schedule, typically between 30mm and 50mm, to keep your lawn looking its best.

🌿 Tip 2: Feed your Lawn

Autumn is the perfect time to replenish essential nutrients in your lawn. Look for a controlled-release fertilizer, like a 10-5-10 blend, to provide both quick results and long-lasting nourishment. This will boost the greenness and thickness of your lawn while protecting it from seasonal diseases.

🌱 Tip 3: Seed for Success
Grass Seed : https://gardenlawncareguy.com/product-category/grass-seed/

Whether you’re starting a new lawn or revitalizing an existing one, September is prime time for seeding. Clear out thatch and debris, creating ideal conditions for grass seed to make direct contact with the soil. Visit our website for a variety of grass seed options tailored to your specific lawn type.

🌿 Tip 4: Scarify for Health πŸ‚

Consider scarification to prepare your lawn for seeding or other improvements. This process involves removing thatch and debris that can block essential nutrients and water from reaching your grass. By scarifying in multiple directions, you’ll open up the soil profile for better growth.

🌱 Tip 5: Say Farewell to Moss
Iron Sulphate : https://gardenlawncareguy.com/shop/fertiliser/iron-sulphate-max-strength/

Moss can be a persistent issue, especially after a rainy season. To remove moss effectively, scarify or rake it first to weaken the plant. Then, consider applying an iron sulfate treatment to turn the moss black and dehydrate it, making it easier to remove. Say goodbye to moss before fertilizing or seeding.

🌿 Tip 6: Winning the Weed Battle 🌱

Weeds come in two main categories: grassy and broadleaf. Address grassy weeds by treating andreseeding affected areas. For broadleaf weeds like dandelions and clover, use a selective weed treatment. Act now, as autumn is the time when these weeds thrive.

🌱 Tip 7: Wrap-Up and Subscribe 🌿

In summary, maintaining a stunning lawn in autumn involves consistent mowing, smart fertilization, seeding, scarification, moss removal, and effective weed control. If you have additional tips or questions, share them in the comments below.

  1. Hi, I started using your products last year and it’s taken some time but I’ve really seen an improvement in my lawn this year. Green machine, seaweed and fertiliser.

  2. Mate your autum fert I put down a week ago. Best autumn fertiliser I have seen. The sun has beated it down this week and still dark green lawn (seed is yours too)

  3. Brilliant advice there and it all makes such sense,I'm going to tackle scarifying my garden for the first time ever in September and see how it goes, when I cut it below 3 inches I notice a lot of yellow/brown patches so I'm guessing this is thatch and needs to be removed by scarifying and then overseeded, does your website ship to Ireland or is it just UK?thanks and have a great wkend

  4. Good video and nice to see you back . How long before it's too late to seed .Thanks

  5. Hi Matt. Great video and great advice. I will shortly scarify my lawn. What’s best for killing off weeds what have returned bigger than ever? Thanks

  6. Awesome! I have some of the fert ready to use. I'm just waiting a couple of weeks after the grass has germinated.

Any ideas on worm casys when overseeding ? I'm trying a sulpur deterant. It's supposed to make the soil more acidic which worm dislike.

  8. Ripped up my lawn about 3 weeks ago and reseeded it and it’s coming up very patchy. Any tips

  9. Great to see you back on Matt. Just ordered Autumn/Winter and the Green Snow.
Your own products are in another league, the Dark Green is amazing! Also used the Green Machine & Seaweed combined as a top up – fantastic!

  10. Just scarified last few days and overseeded hopefully everything will be good. Tried growing a lawn last 5 years and failed until I used your products and advice.

  11. Scarified last Monday, hollow tined and top dressed with Jacks Magic Tuesday. Haven’t used your pre-seed and overseeded yet because of the crazy heat. I’m away on holiday next, so thinking of waiting until I return. Looking forward to seeing the results.

  12. Just in time! I've got your lawn calendar to help me with rejuvenating my lawn, so i'm looking forward to starting the whole process. I will also be buying your products as I like the look of them as opposed to the main brands in the UK. Good to see you back anyway mate πŸ™‚
