Garden Update/She Shed Update/Growing Our Own Food/Challenges and Wins/Stack It to The Rafters!!!

Hello Friends, here is a garden update and a look at Amy’s progress on the She shed, she is doing AMAZING. The garden is doing well, but what a season…so may issues this year with the weather and chipmunks (this is why we stock food, you cannot rely on a garden alone). Amy has been working hard on the shed and is doing an amazing job. We hope you all are continuing to grow your gardens and stack that food! Give us an update, let us know what is going on in your part of the world.

  2. Great job. Next year you may want to plant some plants on the outside of your garden. They would be sacrificed plants. If they eat those they may leave the ones in the garden alone

  3. I think you will finish that She Shed before the snow flies. Great job! And your garden is really going strong yet. Take care now!

  4. Will your watermelons have time to fully grow bfor winter? The garden really looks especially with you getting a late start. Great video. Be blessed ladies.

  5. Your Garden looks fantastic & the she shed is an awesome addition Love the green glass lamp wish our potatoes looked like yours unfortunately our of the state everyone's having issues we had too many floods potatoes, strawberries did awful in CT

  6. amaranth… is the grain
keep going… wish i could grow things… im not good at it…I keep trying… but not very successful

  7. Grasshoppers have been bad this year at my garden. Using tulle to cover and it’s helped keep out grasshoppers and the cabbage moths.

  8. So if you're talking about a grid down/shtf situation you really need to keep all those little critters out of the garden. Because everything they eat is less for you two. So please consider a solar electric fence for your garden. This could make a difference between you surviving or dieing in the future. Things are about to get real really fast. Rabbit and squirrel makes a great stew. Protect your food sources. The SHE shed is coming along wonderful… Great idea about ventilation!!

  9. Excited about watermelon! My favorite! Thanks for sharing! Amy making progress on your home! Take care ladies!

  10. Its a shame the critters are having a feast of your plants. Have you thought about using Tulle to go over your plants? I watch a lady who uses it and lately I've seen several other folks starting to use it as well. They say it lets the sun and rain in but keeps the bugs out. Its really in expensive too. Just a thought.

  11. I'm so proud of you both for all your projects. Can't wait to see the finished she shed and your garden is amazing. Do you have any tips for growing mint? Everyone says it just takes over but mine keeps fizzling out to nothing. I have it in the ground, not a pot. What is it that attacks your garden? I hope your growing season is long enough for those watermelons to mature.

  12. So cool . Please tie up your melons. Make a type of hammock to support them so they don’t break off the vines. Love you sweet ladies.

  13. Garden looks absolutely great! Every year we all learn something new about growing things, its so empowering. The she shed is turning into a very nice building. You will get so much use out of it. Isn't it incredible where our lives lead us? Hugs to both of you,

  14. Ryan is silly and beautiful 😍 Truly, Owen and I have been eating sugar snap peas all week. Produce Connection is such a blessing to us and everyone out here. We also got some potatoes and carrots and two huge plums!! The kids love carrots but the sugar snaps were a great treat😊

  15. I think the Nasturtiums have too much nitrogen in the soil that makes big leaves less flowers. They like poor soil . Just shows you have done a good job with soil quality. Love garden and she shed updates. Thank you ❤

  16. Great work on the She Shed! Working hard, Ladies! You should be proud of all you do! I didn’t have luck with cucumbers last year. Not sure why but it was my first year growing. This year I started them in the greenhouse and put a couple outside. They didn’t like it outside so I brought them back in. They are growing upwards hanging onto everything! I have a bunch of teeny tiny cucumber babies and one is a whole inch long! Here in Wyoming our elevation is so high the sun is like a magnifying glass so I think the cucumbers couldn’t handle it but they are doing amazing in the greenhouse! I get such good ideas about plants from watching your garden. I learn a lot. Thank you!

  17. Ashley and Amy you could use rabbit wire .it's a little more expensive but it smaller squares and birds can't get in there

  18. Really nice ladies! We are done except for orka. We replanted pink eye purple hull for the fall. Going to do some beans and potatoes. Here in Alabama we have a while before frost. We are having Temps above 100 and heat index about 114. This is ruff for everyone. Take care and if you think about it send me your PO Box address

  19. I love your garden! Win some and lose some…especially with critters. I’m so impressed by your direct sown tomatoes and watermelon! Woohooo. Smart tip about the beans…laying a few down for critters to have them take it and run. She shed looks great! Have a great day!

  20. Chào bạn thân mến, thật tốt khi có một khu vườn nhỏ tự trồng những loại cây mình yêu thích. Tôi thích khu vườn của bạn, , rất thú vị, chúc bạn một ngày tốt lành 😊
