It’s day three of the Kilimanjaro climb for Kate & Keith. We haven’t heard a peep from them since they started the climb but NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS since the satellite phone the guides carry are only for use in emergencies.
The guys entered via the Machame gate on Sunday morning (see map) and climbed over 18k to their first campsite. (Kate has now spent her first EVER couple of nights in a tent! No frills here; a sleeping bag; a roll mat and her jacket for a pillow)
They will be spending tonight at Barranco Camp, altitude 3900 metres. The temperature will probably be around -5 at night at this stage and altitude sickness will be a very real possibility.
So far we have raised an incredible £9200 for @perennialgrbs (THANK YOU ALL) and we would love to smash 10k by the time the guys make it back down, so please keep sharing and donating! Stay tuned for more updates…. .
