  1. My understanding of neem is you spray the leaves that are being eaten. When they get munched on again the insect ingests the neem oil and dies.

  2. How long do you have to wait before eating, tomatoes, greens? Also any oil used in the summer fires up your plants.
I am just came across this video from a year ago.

  3. I just watched your video and I stoped and went outside on my roses. Love them and it hurts me to see them get damaged from this green beetles as soon as they are ready to bloom. I got a bottle with soap and water and I see them go down :). I sprayed the droid as well so I’ll se how long will it last this time for them to come back . I have spend so much money and nothing 🙁 . I hope this works and will last longer then one day.
My question is .-1- will the soap water hurt the bees and butterflies.?

  4. It's very worrying a channel of this size thought neem oil was a contact killer. It's not mean to kill on contact.

  5. Neem oil typically takes 3-4 days to kill most bugs, although 5-7 days is not unheard of, because it takes time for the oil's chemical compounds to do their work. Larvae and soft-bodied nymphs are more vulnerable to neem oil while mature, hard-bodied bugs are less likely to die off.

  6. If your goal is to kill on contact, then Neem with azadirachtin isn't the ticket you need. Neem with azadirahctin is more of a preventative, longer term killer for people who don't go into their gardens every day. Insects lose their appetite and ability to reproduce when used properly. In other words, they stop eating and reproducing. Great for the insects that you don't see. It is also useful for powdery mildew which it kills and prevents.

  7. Consider using an INSECTICIDAL SOAP designed for use on plants instead of a detergent which is loaded with chemicals. An INSECTICIDAL SOAP is more likely to use postassium instead of sodium, and less of other chemicals which your plants/soil probably don't need or want.

  8. Soap works because insects breath through their abdomen. They suffocate quickly when coated in anything that doesn't allow air to transpire through their spiracles. So it's not a toxin it's just a physical killing agent like an oil.

  9. I just tried the soap remedy on Japanese Beetles this morning. Four sitting on a leaf on an apple tree. Sprayed them many times making sure to get the suds on them. I checked after about five minutes and it didn't kill them but it did slow them down enough to easily catch and squash them.

Question for you: do you think a BT drench would kill their grubs?

  10. 6:19 “how incredibly toxic dish soap is” none of the animals being cleaned up from oil spills have issues with it. With wildly inaccurate statements like that, guess I won’t view your channel. There are many types of soap as well. Make castille soap or other homemade to know what’s in it. You even commented on someone’s post explaining the surface tension and stated “I don’t know how it works” they just told you…

  11. The scary part is,that the dishwashing liquid killed them bugs less than 2 min. and we're still using it on our dishes 😮😮😮

  12. Hi. Can you please 🙏 help. What works to get rid of ongoing problems with regular spiders in grape vines. Not spiders mites. They nest there and they're even in the grape bunches when we harvest. Spider web everywhere. Organic or not. Please let me know what I can use. 🙏

  13. Dish soap (any soap) is not toxic to insects per se; it's deadly because of the surfactant that causes the water to wet the lung book of the critters, and they drown on dry land.

  14. I gotta laugh!! You keeping the bugs comfortable so you can kill them!!! 🤣😂!! Sorry, I just had to say something! I use Castile soap. From a bar. I use my little tiny cheese grater, and grate a good pile of it. Probably about 1 tablespoon. Then put it in my spray bottle full of water. Shake it up for a couple of minutes. And wa-la!! The bugs are gone. I live in the Great Pacific Northwest, on the coast. Man, do you have bugs!!! Shoot our bugs aren't anything like yours! They're gi-hugic!! Tho' ours do just as bad damage to the plants, as yours. I seldom see any bugs, but see their damage. Plants will be fine in the evening. By morning something has made my dahlia's leaves lace! But when I get out my spray bottle they leave!! I spray about 1time a week. But, it keeps them away! I learned a lot from this video! I shall subscribe!! Thank you!!😎😎😎

  15. The dish soap solution does look to be most effective. But a question that wasn’t asked and answered is dies this effect any pollinators or is it safe to use and not drive them away?

  16. Fantastic. First time viewer – an EASY subscribe, like, notifications on and a note for the algorithm that sent me. I've used Neem for years – – less and less impressed with it as I learn more. This made it quite evident – – there are much better things! Nice job on this! I'll be back for more!

  17. Neem oil disrupts the pest's hormones that control breeding, growth, and feeding, so you won't see immediate results you clueless little hobbyist.

  18. What works on grasshoppers? We have weed cloth down but they have eaten ALL our melons & cucumbers.

  19. Your comment on Pyrethrin about quickly breaking down seems odd to me. Outdoorsmen spray their clothes with it and it works for weeks, also survives a couple of washings. A few hours on a plant should have no affect on it.
