  2. I've been watching tons of videos on how to tell when to harvest our cantaloupes. Yours is the best. I like the trellis idea so next time it's going up a fence…thanks

  4. Im growing cantaloupe for the first time this year. Do you let all the fruit that set ripen or do you thin to a few per vine? Thank you, your content is really helpful.

  5. Thank you for all the information – what I thought was speghetti squash is actually volunteer canteloupe and I found a full size one under leaves on the fence trellis!

  6. I beg to differ! My cantaloupes look fantastic and ripe, but the flavor is insipid. No sweetness whatsoever!

  7. OMG I was just about to clip all the excess leaves off of my vertical growing cantaloupe! I thought that like yellow squash it would be ok. Just as I was getting my clippers I thought I should check!! This is my first time growing fruits and veggies. I’m using grow bags and supports as a giant burr oak in my backyard has taken most of my sun.
Thank you for one of the best videos on growing cantaloupes I’ve seen. You just saved me from making a novice grower mistake.

  8. I grew one by accident when i worked construction.

There are some ladies that bring food to buy and one of them was a fruit cup. So I got it and got cantaloup with it. I spit the seeds onto the ground and never thought anything of it. After like a couple of months of not being there, we went back to that jobsite and i saw ome cantaloup that was already finished growing. Took that baby home and will grow it

  9. Hello everyone if you just started out and your stuff is slowly getting there buy a bag of cow manure and put in before winter hits like when you are done for the fall and let it seat over the winter and when we start next spring the soil will be ready for next year but you /it willbbe better if you put some lower /under the soil like a foot so it does not burn the plants and it will wake-up the plants i have been growing for awhile and I moved back lol you can't grow in sand.

As in i was living in Florida 😢

  10. Wow that's cool! I didnt know it can be grown vertically and that it needs a little basket underneath if on the ground. Maybe I'll use a ladder too! Thank you, bless you!

  11. Thanks for your great video. We just ate our first ambrosia melon and we’re disappointed because it wasn’t sweet. The flesh was beautiful and soft. It had actually fallen off the vine. Just not sweet. Any suggestions?
