Start growing edible or medicinal mushrooms using the Martha Tek, or technique. In this video, we show you the step-by-step process of building and maintaining a Martha Tent with alternate builds to fit your budget and space requirements. You can find these materials online or at your local hardware or hydroponic store (see our recommendations below).

We show you how to dial in the environmental conditions of your Martha Tent and highlight the four conditions fundamental to mushroom growing: humidity, fresh air exchange, temperature, and light.

Get started growing your own edible or medicinal mushrooms by building your own Martha Tent! Martha Tents are mid-sized fruiting chambers designed to simulate the proper environment for fruiting mushrooms in trays, blocks, and jars.

Martha Tents are the surest way to grow beautiful flushes of mushrooms indoors, regardless if you’re a small-scale cultivator or a commercial producer. They can fit inside any closet, kitchen, or basement, or be scaled up to fruit pounds of edible or medicinal mushrooms every week.

  1. hello Gary here ,a Aussie just started to watch your channel so enthralling and inspiring ,I am wondering do you ship Items to Australia ,thank you. I'll second what @Tortuga said just below this could easy be a setup to start a home business from even in a Garage at home

  2. I'm growing mushrooms in my garage but I live in Wyoming- any tips for heating a martha tent during the winter?

  3. With this setup is there a need for an incoming fae fan? I see some people have installed pc fans. Is this necessary or better? Thanks!

  4. so this is reasonably safe since you're pumping the spores out the window? you won't get farmers lung or anything?

  5. Just put mine together, but use my AC Infinity 69 controller with 4 in exhaust fan to help control temp and bring in fresh air on a timer schedule. I use a Inkbird humidity controller with a similar mister. I also exhaust out my window. Thanks for the ideas and help. I have done well with it. Now, if I could master a monotub. 😫

  6. With the humidifier, how often do you think it’s on? I know you’re using a switch, unfortunately I’ve no switch atm that automatically turns it on and so would appreciate an idea for how often it is on

  7. i have been researching mushroom cultivation for a few weeks now, and your video is by far the best explained, basic knowledge/ introductory, in one place that i have found so far… kudos

  8. Great video but poor measurement on your website regarding Martha tent setup… 27"(W) 19"(D) 1"(H) nowhere in England recognises these measurements???????? 🤨

  9. Why let the CO2(g) go to waste?
I wonder what sort of potable plants would grow nicely along side the fungi 🤔

  10. Could I skip the humidifier? This will be in a closet and I’m concerned about the humidity affecting the closet.

Edit: My tent is reeeeeally shitty and I’ll just have to do the work to make it as airtight as I can. I don’t see the type of humidity in my apartment that is ideal. My first batch I dealt with wet rot in all my bags during colonizing so I haven’t gotten to fruiting yet :/

Edit: Would there be a problem using tape to secure the shelving to the frame? Should I use clips or twine instead?

  11. Do you need to run the fan 24/7? I am thinking putting it on a timer but I have no clue what would be the right setting.

  12. @northSpore , great video and thank you. Does the fan run constantly or does it also need to be on a timer?

  13. Hi! Shouldn't I be controlling the temperatures somehow. I will be growing in south africa, will the setup be sufficient without some way to control temperature?

  14. Great video 🙂 thanks for the helpful info – just finished setting up my martha tent and excited to get started
