  1. I always appreciate your videos. I know you have a very busy life as a mom and many demands on your time. Thank you for sharing your garden with us as often as you can. Your pretty garden and upbeat attitude are always inspiring.

  2. I struggle making decisions sometimes too. We've been doing a lot in our backyard over the last few years…removed an unused gravel driveway that was a weed haven and changed it into my cottage garden area. Fencing it in to keep the bunnies out was next, deciding on bed shape, moving plants around, adding plants to it, figuring out plant placement due to having to take down a couple trees…to say the least, a little overwhelming. That area is still in progress but I've been really pleased with the growth of the plants this year. And it was hard for me to decide on a color theme, but this year I realized that one of my favorite things is to take pictures of sunsets…so I connected that to all the flower colors I love. I have a sunset garden of pinks, purples, apricots, soft yellow, and I love it.😊 This year we removed an old concrete drive and patio and added hardscape along with a new area where I plan to add some high raised beds next year. Still lots to do, but we've been here over 18 years and it's finally getting to a point where I'm really happy with the look. I know this was long, but I wanted to share because I feel like we've had very similar journeys. Everything in your yard is looking beautiful, and I think one of the best things you did was add the curved bed by your patio. Happy Gardening!

  3. Looks great! My grandfather had a garage of about the same size at his house. I'd guess it built in the teens or '20's, so it is probably a contemporary tp yours. It had a dirt floor, too (and lots of spiders). I think it worked size-wise because tin lizzies were smaller than modern-day cars and SUVs. Question: did the espaliered apple trees along the fence not thrive? I was surprised to see them gone.

  4. You're one of my first utube Garden Channel to watch! Your garden has always been beautiful and inspirational ❤️

  5. Laura, I had to laugh when you were talking about your small, tight garage. Years ago my grandmother and I were standing in her backyard garden. My grandfather came home from work and drove up to their small, tight garage. He was looking at us and drove into the garage and through the back wall of the garage. You can imagine the look on my grandmother's face! I love the changes you have made along the driveway garden. It looks so lovely. Your garden gets better and better!

  6. Laura, your yard inspires me!! If I could create just a little of the beauty that mimics your yard-I would be thrilled! I also adore you!

  7. Laura, I love the new “entry look” to your back patio area!! It’s beautiful!

  8. Wow Laura! You really have been working so hard in the garden! What a transformation, and it looks amazing. I clearly remember the raised beds, the fence, and the obelisk; but these changes seem right. I love it!

  9. Laura, you did such a wonderful job and I love the new layout. Can’t you please let me know do you have paver base or weed fabric under the gravel?

  10. I really like all of your changes. Have you ever thought of putting french doors on your shed? It would let a lot of light in and add some really nice interest to the structure. How pretty that would look. 🌻🌷

  11. The changes that you made are just beautiful! It all blends together so well. It is frustrating when you know something if off, but you don't know what. It just takes time and patience to figure it out. I really like the border materials you are using from Home Depot. Do you have a link or more information on the product? They have quite a selection and I'm not sure which one it is. Thank you!

  12. …nohhh 😲 to taking out the crape myrtles (based on my previous comment yesterday or so)…I get it, tho'. Oh, if they could stay the same size. They look so nice centered on those fence panels. Keep the arbor. It creates an entrance into another garden room. You created a pretty curve on the patio bed too (that bed looks awesome!) I'm excited for your new growing space (new plants to be had! 🤗🙌.) You sound like me; I like symmetry too, and NOTHING out of place. Just keep your newly refreshed area tidy while its in progress– wrangle your tools all together, etc — and pick up the next time where you had to quit for the day. I do like instant gratification, but many-a-time I've mumbled to myself "Rome wasn't built in a day." (Note to self) just enjoy the journey. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Have a lovely weekend too. Hugs, 👩🏼‍🌾💚 =^..^=

  13. What a great hobby we have that allows us to create and recreate the same area as we see fit. It is so rewarding when you see the design unfolding and it awakens the rest of the dream. I appreciate you sharing the journey…. Your gardens are gorgeous and I love your enthusiasm . 🌹🌺🌸🌼🌸🌺🌹

  14. I love what you’re doing with the driveway garden. Don’t change the door on the shed. I never would’ve known it was a garage door. It totally looks like carriage doors. Spend your money on something else.

  15. Laura, please 🙏 just relax and enjoy enjoy what you've created
You can think, maybe have a notebook i case you have a idea or 2 Lol

  16. I cannot believe how tall those coneflowers are! Where I live they average like 12in

  17. Laura you work so hard. Your garden is so lovely! I’m so jealous of your weather! Here in Dallas Ft Worth everything is fried! So much intense heat! Can’t wait for Fall!

  18. Nice garden + update! Any green garden & plants in bloom are a thing of beauty 💓 here in desert Az we are melting & plants dying, no rain etc. So enjoy your beautiful garden & please send any rain our way! Have a good weekend 🌹

  19. I can see hydrangea macrophylla in the part of driveway you were thinking of adding arbs.
So, the espaliered apple tree didn't make it? That's sad.
I love the bench placement. We need to sit and enjoy our gardens. This is a work of art.
That echinacea, do you know the variety? It's so tall! I found one among my weeds and plan on moving it (it's currently laying on the ground with lots of blooms looking skyward). I suspect it's the same variety as yours because it's pretty tall considering the competition it had.

  20. Could you keep the myrtles' size in check by pruning them?
Living in Minnesota, I have zero experience with that tree. But I've heard orher, more experienced than I, gardeners talk about keeping shrubs to a manageable size through selective pruning.
I planted a common snowball viburnum this spring that has potential to grow to 12'. I WANT it to grow big and cast shade on my east-facing living room. It's really loving life where I planted it. I think it's added at least a third its original size.
I love your color palette, by the way.
