After 4 years these are all of my TOP TIPS for preventing the vine squash borer from killing your squash plants. Finally all of the efforts have worked but you MUST PAY ATTENTION! Don’t sleep on watching your plants because it only takes one slip up to get your plants unalived.

I love you, but those are squash bug eggs. SVB eggs are never clumped up they are red and even smaller than that, and they lay them individually. Most people say they lay at the base of the plants but I have found them everywhere. Look up SVB eggs you will see they are different. Squash bugs are our enemy as well but they look like long stink bugs, and they do NOT burrow into the plant.
Ok so theyre not VSB eggs BUT still applies to check your plant leaves! Also adding the Diatomaceous earth at the base of your plants can help. All these tips can still help protrct your plants🌻

The squash bug eggs, the ones that are grouped, if you get to them too late and they already hatched, it is easy to kill the bugs with soapy water in a spray bottle. The vine borer eggs are not grouped like that.
