Lavender likes gravelly non fertile soil. It doesn't need to be watered very often and you must prune it hard or it will get woody and then it will be worthless.
The moment u said ur putting grass I turned off!

Might pull the mulch back from those tree trunks a little though, can cause damage for the tree.
Very nice 🙂🦋🦋,three thing to alway consider..right plant, right place..when fully grown will it become a Neusense because of the small space you allowed..and lastly does it attract beneficial insects / pests. Happy gardening 🦋🦋🦋

With those 2 maples, hope your neighbor likes to rake leaves every year and the job of disposing all those leaves. Those trees get way too big to contain for such a small yard.
