  1. Very nice. I can’t readily find the fertilizer so I can plant in tubs. If I order the fertilizer then it’s to expensive for the amount I need.

  3. Well I'll be dad gum that tamater looks good ..I caught a red snapper that weighed 45 lb once but it wasn't out of the garden .. and them Hossin'maters should be tastin' pretty good .. they make some really nice cultivating tools especially that dual Wheeled high-rise …my garden she's doing really good this year better than it has in a 1,000 decades I've got a whole bunch of really nice tomatoes .. but they're all still green as a gourd 😎👍

  4. Just wondering do you ever have problem with deer? I’m up west of Ft Worth had deer destroy 6 big tomato plants.

  5. I too am having a fantastic results with wicking grow tubs. Tomatoes and peppers love them and I grow them on my deck. Even though it’s shady, they outperform the ones out in the regular garden every single year.

  6. The weight or pressure of the soil around a plant in a planting bucket; it does something deterring root growth. I had bad luck with it. Now I didn't use quality potting mix! Lots of green tomatoes (MN). I'm not gardening, this year i'm stuck in D.C.. LOL

  7. Alan, we plant the squash seed and cover the whole squash raised bed with a mesh blanket, uncover once we see blooms. It seems to work for us on the SE side of Smith County.

  8. They are very nice. My question is how well would they do directly planted in the garden with that drip irrigation on them?

  9. Thank you for this. I’m south of you and grew: tycoon, thunderbird and BHN968. Some were in individual pots, others were in wicking tubs. Both did very well. They have “played out” and most people around here talk about how bad the spider mites are. It looks like you are starting to get some.

  10. Are you heatless habanero and heatless jalapenos seeds fro Baker Creek Rare Seeds or somewhere else and are the good generation after generation from the seeds you save from the? Thanks

  11. They grow great in grow bags as well. My kelloggs breakfast are 6ft tall so far. Also growing cayenne in grow bags and they produce. I may be putting too much fertilizer. I use the 20/20/20 hoss once a week and 10/10/10 granule.

  12. Wow…Everything is looking great. I was wondering if it was just me having a good year this year, but its in Gods hands why everyone seems to be having a great year. For me, it seems to be the best Garden I've ever had. Cucumbers are doing fantastic and we are loaded down. Squash is overly abundent to the point I'm already tired of eating squash, tomatoes are so full that my plants are dragging the stakes down with em, or atleast trying too. Watermelons are growing out of the beds and already have several fruit looking to be growing like a tire on plenty of air, and my pepper plants are all looking amazing. One Yellow Jalapeno plant with so many peppers I can't count all of em. I gave up after 20.

  13. Alan, can you tell mevwhatvyou are doing to eliminate grasshoppers? I am overrun with them all different sizes and colors. I had them down in Georgetown and kept them at bay with DE. But there are so many here I'd have to hire a crop duster to manage them.

  14. Im from the north. This is my first attempt at growing in Texas. So far I’ve discovered there is no food in the soil for the plants. I’m wondering if that’s why you grow in planters and not the ground. Or does ot save water or is it because of snakes. Question what snake prevention do you use. And do you use shade cloth in this hot weather

  15. Amazing production. Incredible how quickly things grow in that Texas heat. Here in Seattle the green tomatoes are just beginning to form.

  16. Do you add more fertilizer after you planted the first time? I planted late in May. I didn’t add the phosphorus you mentioned in an older video because I saw it too late, so I wanted to add a little bit along with some garden tone. Most of my peppers plants aren’t very tall. Some of my tomatoes fruits are a little small and have blossom end rot. And since it’s been raining a lot in NJ, I’m really tempted to add more fertilizer. Would recommend that? This is my first time growing in city picker boxes.

  17. wow, great job, I am headed toward boxes too, I found that my tomatoes were drowning during heavy rains each year, thought it was blight. I found Jadam JS and JWA is stopping most of the bugs and blight. I have been looking into containers for the tomatoes, the ones I got from lowes (plastic) rotted out in a year. At $20 each, not good.
