The glassed back entrance at the rural Virginia retreat of DC based landscape architect, Richard Arentz, opens onto an allee of ‘Winter King’ hawthorn trees. The blue urn at the far end of the pathway anchors a transition point that leads to a sunken perennial border just below the Korean boxwood hedge.
