My approach to house plant care:

1) Understand your conditions: the skylight in this stairway provides indirect light all day.

2) Do your best: given these plants are adequately lit, watering can be done when the soil is nearly all dry (leaves can even be slightly limp).

3) Let Nature take its course: expect one or two of the oldest leaves to yellow every couple weeks. 2️⃣ Wait until they are completely yellow so the plant can finish salvaging the mobile nutrients. See how the leaf comes off easily once it has completed the nutrient transfer. 3️⃣ Deal with the look of a yellowed leaf by knowing how plants work: you are doing steps 1) and 2) so yellowed leaves can be accepted as part of the plant’s life cycle. Leave room for Nature and you’ll find plant parenthood far more rewarding.

My book, “The New Plant Parent”, is written with this philosophy in mind.
