  1. I am sitting here in Port Orange, Central Florida eating my Snake Gourd I harvested today wondering….."how in the heck can they be in long pants in this Florida heat?" I was watering at 5am in full garb but the bugs were biting me. But us girls gotta have our hands "in the dirt". Thanks for all the info again. Patrina, I feel like I am growing with you in your journey with the help of Jacqueline and Elise. Swamp Milkweed is my favorite to grow along with Firebush!

  2. Love your collaborations. A lot of information. My question is how to prevent these plants from looking too unkept.

  3. The two of you are lovely to watch and listen to. I’m learning so much albeit once in a while you speak a foreign gardening language but I’ll catch up eventually. You both are delightfully interested and intent on one another’s comments and questions. Keep up the good work.

  4. Any suggestion for shade loving flowers ? I put in sweet potatoes last year but didn’t due well because in nit enough sun. Looking for a flower that increases pollinators in that area

  5. I tried planting the coreopsis but I didn’t know it looked like a weed at first. I must of pulled it as a weed( oops ) I will try in a starter pot first this time so I know what it is when it pops up.

  6. My two favorite Florida gardening girls together! You two compliment each other so well and keep the content interesting and fun. Thank you, both!

  7. I was thinking about buying a corky stem passion and one day I looked down between my row of giant camphor trees and I don't need to buy them. I have 11 so far growing wild. I'm guessing the birds planted them. I'm going to encourage the. Up the tree trunks and continue to enjoy all the butterflies. I have 2 large passion flower already in sunny spots that are the blue and purple so I already enjoy gulfs, zebras, and peacocks. I also have noticed a ton of hairstreak. Probably from the oaks.

  8. You two get even better together each time you do a collab. You should line up a series!
Except for the blanket flowers you want to save for seed, deadhead them to encourage more flowering, and to make them look neater. You could almost use a hedger on every other one taking turns, and scraggies would be gone!
Thanks for all the info, and new thoughts for the garden.

  9. I am wondering about the August planting season. I am up here in North East Florida and summer time is gnat season… I am working on setting up some additional beds and I am already being attacked by gnats and thinking how they will be effecting my new veggies? I will of course be spreading pest control on my lawn area to help curb this problem, but I am guessing that will only slow it down a little. What else can be done to protect our plants from gnats and other flying insects?
