  1. Everything looks great thanks for the tip on the basil have a wonderful day I'll take a day of that cool weather down here in South Texas and I'll trade you for one or even 2 of my hot ones!

  2. Hi Toni!! I use lavender in my body scubs and I also use it in tea. I add it to my relaxing tea blend and I add a small amount to my chamomile tea. Very relaxing.❤❤

  3. We got so much rain here in NC that it drowned all of my garden…my tomatoes were so pitiful…but after 2 days of sunshine and temps in the 80s they are coming back! Picked my first tomato this morning and will leave it on the window sill for a couple days…my basil is doing wonderfully well too! The bunnies ate all my watermelon…14…chewed them off when they were just 2 leaves…but I've got 16 pumpkin plants coming along nicely

  4. Hello Toni!
Hmm, lavender. It is wonderful in tea. My husband and I enjoy drinking Earl Grey tea. Kroger stores sell small 90 gram (3.17 ounces) tins of Earl Grey loose tea with lavender that is now costing approx. $7 each, a bit too pricey. We now grow our own lavender in pots on our condo balcony here in a Los Angeles suburb. We live in an upstairs condo so everything we grow has to be in a pot on our small balcony. We dry the lavender and mix it with another (better quality & less expensive) loose Earl Grey tea that we bought at a local chain of grocery stores that carries a lot of international foods.

This year we are also growing a few varieties of cherry tomatoes and also little yellow pear-shaped tomatoes. We love eating them, cooked or raw. Last year was very hot and dry and we only got a few dozen. This past winter we had a lot of much-needed rain well into spring and cooler than usual temps. Our tomato plants are now covered with dozens of the sweet little things. If this keeps up, we will soon have to be can them.

Toni, I always look forward to your videos, whatever they are about. They are always interesting!

  5. Toni using blood meal around anything you don't want rabbits or deer to eat works as a good deterrent. Being herbivores they don't like the blood on their food. Plus your plants get a good source of nitrogen! I'll even sprinkle it directly on the plant if I'm not going to be eating it for awhile🇺🇸😎 Happy gardening!

  6. This is my first year of growing horseradish. I purchased 2 crowns, only 1 survived. Garden looks great, Toni Love your herbs. XOXOXO

  7. Your garden is looking beautiful Toni !! Probably gif your climate to grow melons your best bet would probably be to buy seeds that mature in 55-70 days and those would be the small watermelons and Cantelope or Honeydews maybe! God bless ❤️🙏🙋🏻🌈🌈

  8. Toni your garden is looking good I think everything is just slow start this year I know that ours got a late start but doing good now, you are raspberries look beautiful wishing I had some. We had about three days of rain last week and couldn’t get in the garden but I consider that Jesus rain end it did a great job on our garden for sure.
Sounds as if you’re staying pretty Busy so take care don’t work too hard and hope your garden harvest is great this year. God bless take care!!!

  9. Hi Toni – your garden is looking great. The plants are healthy and with the increased heat in July they should explode. If you can’t find seed potato – look for a farm market that sells local potatoes and has some stored in a cold room that they are still selling – those potatoes can be planted and do produce quite well – I’ve done this when I couldn’t afford seed potatoes. That lavender looks lovely I love the smell of it on my clothes – it is very relaxing. I picked about 20 large poblano peppers the other day and my cherry tomatoes are turning red – Yum – a nice treat while working in the garden. Other peppers are taking a little longer to grow but the plants are flowering nicely. I’ve got a ton of weeding to do tomorrow – will have to be up early before the heat starts and try to get it done.

  10. We had to replace the horseradish raised bed raised bed, so hubs built a 3-tier one – more plant varieties in the same space. I really thought the horseradish would suffer but it's come back with a vengeance. Cucumbers are blooming and we have baby squashes. I planted "hardy" lavender 3 years in a row, and NONE of it came back. Same with the Basil and Chamomile. Sage, Oregano, and Thyme always come back. One year the Chamomile was full of baby praying mantises! I didn't want to bother them so few flowers were harvested. Garlic was dug up yesterday and is drying in the greenhouse – my best harvest ever with several bulbs almost as big as my fist! Just ordered 3 cases of half gallon jars for dehydrated/freeze dried items. I'm hoping they take up less room than mylar bags which refuse to stack upright. And I miss the easy recognition/pretty colors you get with glass jars. For bunny invasions, I've seen these plant covers which look sort of like an umbrella (without the handle); IDK if those would work. Between the guard dog and recon cats, we don't get intruders, 4-legged or otherwise 😉

  11. Toni I have used human hair from my haircuts tied in an old stocking and hung on the fencing next to the tomatoes. They don’t like the scent of humans. When it rains it accents the scent even more. An old farmer taught me this and I have always had good luck with it.

  12. Toni have you ever had a London Fog Latte? It has Earl Grey Tea and Lavender. I drink it over ice. So nice in the heat!

  13. I also have problems with the rabbits eating my young plants. This year I started putting milk crates over the plants and it is working great. The plants still get enough light and rain and it doesn't stay moist in there to attract pests. So far so good.

  14. When I try a new plant, I expect to fail for a year or two. Each failed year I learn more about what that plant wants and what I can do to help at grow. 😄
