This time I show you a few things we did in the garden in the springtime. Then a tour of the potager and I show you what’s ready to pick. My flowers I grew from seed are all blooming too.

We are Tony and Jane and we are living in and renovating our old Relais De Poste/Coaching Inn.
We live in the middle of France in a region called The Berry.
We have over 40 rooms to renovate so there is plenty of work to be done. We also love to trawl the local Brocantes, flea markets and antique shops for quirky furnishings and furniture.
We love to find out about local history and often visit other peoples buildings including our friends’ Chateaux.

  1. The garden is looking amazing! Love all the flowers, such pretty colours. I love seeing the tiny little birds and the butterflies, such a beautiful sight aren't they? You've been working hard on that garden, Jane, and it really shows. It doesn't really seem that long ago that I was watching Tony build the raised garden! Much love and big hugs xx

  2. Make a mix of 4ltrs vinegar (any) 1 cup course salt and 30ml dishwashing liquid, for large area, mix up and spray your walk/stone areas to kill weeds, works a treat and eco friendly. Don't use on /in the beds.
    Garden looks wonderful!!!

  3. Your garden is looking fantastic! You have a wonderful variety….ahhhh…the fresh peas, raspberries and all that good stuff….yum!!! The variety of flowers, butterflies and humming birds….absolutely lovely!

  4. 🫛🌱🪴Jane maybe try some diatomaceous earth around your plants in the garden to get rid of bugs. It’s natural, non toxic and won’t effect your plants.

  5. Great water butt! It’s very important to keep it covered so bugs, especially mosquitoes don’t breed in there. In the States water butts are also expensive. I loved having one when I lived in England….actually I attached another one so the overflow filled another container. They are awesome …love not wasting water. I’ve lived in countries where there is little water and what is available us sold to the most humble people… there are no gardens the water they pay 8 times more than the rest of the population… they need water to drink, wash, cook, clean…sadly most of the western world still wastes water.

  6. One of the things I like most about your property is the river and the sound of the waterfall. Please take us down there more often to see how beautiful it is.

  7. Thank you for the garden update. It is looking lovely. I managed to connect a water butt. Had to wait quite a while until it rained to see if it worked. Thank goodness it does!! Have a lovely weekend 😊
