Maidenhair fern: here are the newest fronds that developed these past few weeks. I’d like to point out that the relative humidity in my apartment has been consistently hovering around 30-35%. I don’t use a humidifier or engage in pointless misting.

Instead, I just put the plant where it has the widest possible view of the sky and check for sun tolerance (mine seems fine with 1-2 direct sun). Watering (given this lighting situation): the soil must be kept fully moistened – I check the weight of the pot every day and water if it feels even slightly dry. If the Maidenhair fern’s soil gets down to half dry, many fronds will die back. Cut them off and fully moisten the soil. With proper light, new fronds will emerge.
