MG, that was very satisfying to watch! I think my neighbors think it's strange I'm vacuuming in the garden.๐
Great tip.
I live on a 3 acre corner lot on a hill. My neighbors have seen me do some strange things, but they will surely think I have OCD if I start vacuuming my garden. ๐
Wonderful idea
How about showing the emptying of the cup filled with bugs? Ewwww!
Wher and how do you empty the vacuum with all the bugs?
this is a great idea! its good that it juz suck it all up easy! …
Lo key …this looks kinda fun
Too hot to do that in Texas
I never thought of this! I don't have too many problems with bugs, just some aphids and ants from time to time.
Great tip!๐ Odd thing is I just was visiting extended family over the weekend and my uncle was using a hand vacuum for his milkweed plants and sucking up milkweed bugs.๐
What I am wondering is there a solar powered hand vaccuum? Thanks for the tip๐
I have a 30 gal fish tank on my porch that we got at a yard sale. It gets a little bit of sun in the morning but than is shaded for the rest of the day. My kids made it into a toad habit and right now there are 3 toads and a skink lizard living in it, all caught in our backyard. My kids catch all the bugs, slugs, crickets they can find and feed them to the toads and lizard. After a month, my kids let them go and catch new, smaller toads and start over. โค
Excellent!
How do you empty it?
Wow thatโs a genius idea.. but then what do you do after youโre done sucking the bugs up in the vacuum?
Been doing this for years and always telling people in my garden groups. My # 1 defense. I attach a slurpee straw at the end with tape. It's still wide enough to get a squash bug; not sure about the vine borer though.
Got me laughing at about time stamp 1:28. โI have a particularly buggy climate โฆโ bug flies by on queue. ๐๐๐
Iโm new to NC and stink bugs. What do they do to plants?
Any tips for idiots being pest in the garden I can deal with bugs . ๐ No for real I need fencing tips ๐
Get them! Lol! Thank you for a great idea MG! ๐๐๐
Great idea
Wonโt the bugs find their way out of the vacuum?
Awesome idea
But i don't know how to differentiate which bug is bad and which one is good. I know nothing about bugs
I have been doing this for 2 years. I get ants and so many other flys and then just leave the vacuum outside to allow the heat build up and kill all the bugs.
I have not 1, but 3 of these type vacuums (mine are Black & Decker). I don't have a big problem w/ bugs in my garden but in the house, oh my! And this is exactly what I use these vauums for— ants, dead flies (by the millions!), spiders, bees, even yellowjackets. Once inside, they can't get out due to a handy little trapdoor, & eventually suffocate & end uip in the trash. Never thought about using them outdoors! Genius!
