The monstera is a favorite of ours for adding a little green to a room- pop a leaf or two in a pretty vessel and you have the impact of a plant, in a more compact form. As gorgeous as a single leaf can be, bring in a full Monstera plant and you’ve got a major visual upgrade- with those graphic leaves, and its vine-like stems that can get pretty wild- totally jungalicious!

GET THE GREEN: Split-Leaf ‘Philodendron’, Swiss Cheese Plant (Monstera deliciosa)
WATER: Water regularly, but let the top 1″-2″ of soil dry completely between waterings. Water less in winter.
SUNLIGHT: Moderate to bright indirect light.
PLACEMENT: This is a big, upright plant that looks great on the floor in a large statement pot, either next to a wall or as a room divider.
EXTRA CREDIT: Aerial roots will grow from the stem- tuck those that will reach into the soil and secure upper roots to a planting stake. Wipe leaves regularly with a soft cloth to reduce dust and keep them glossy.
WORD OF CAUTION: All parts of this plant are poisonous to both people and pets. #monsteramonday #jungalow #plantopedia
