Thanks again to @style_in_form for the lovely planters (unboxing in stories). This one has been given to my in-laws jade plant, which I’m proud to say has been pest-free for a year. #tbt Four and a half years ago, I bought it from @valleyviewgardens as a birthday gift to my father-in-law – it just barely fit in the back of my old car. Several months later, it had developed a mealy bug infestation. Every few months, I would meticulously kill them with alcohol on cotton swabs. In the third year, I decided to up the ante – hard pruning and letting the plant be outside during the fall months. I speculated that harsher temperatures would discourage the mealy bugs from re-spawning. Now, as I continue to regularly inspect the plant, I can confidently say that the infestation is no more!

3️⃣ Ive kept it in the plastic nursery pot for ease of “costume” changes. I recall doing just one major repotting in the last 4.5 years – Jades are fine with nutrient poor soil and a larger volume of soil will have plenty of nutrients anyway.
