Garden Plans

Homestead Orchard And Garden Tour

On the homestead, I have been busy planting fruit trees! So far, I have planted 6 fruit trees (3 peach, 1 cherry, and 2 apple.) I am planning to plant two more cherry trees and a few more apples and possibly pear. I already have 3 established pear trees, so they are last on my list this spring!

Trees are easy to plant but they take some time if you don’t have a tractor to dig the holes for you. Planting will be an incredible exercise and worth it.

I am not only planting these trees for myself, but I am also planting them for the future generations of my family. I want to have food that grows in my backyard and yesterday is the best day to plant a tree! Because they can take years to establish, plant them as soon as you can.

Right now..

The future of the world is uncertain, but I want food to be certain for myself, my kids, and grandkids.

  1. Property is looking awesome…the deer won't think so but they will be fine…love the fruit trees… Fruit cobblers !!

  2. I'm so jealous of all the beautiful fruit trees you have! My mom and I were able to finally harvest some lettuce, poblano peppers and one tomato so far!

  3. I love your fence😁it'll keep the deer and rabbits out well, you may have to add an electric line for the bears but that's not big issue.

  4. Nice garden and fence. Im wondering if you trim the pear tree back at the end of this year it may be more productive. Just a thought, but definitely not an arborist.

  5. Beautiful orchard Gubba! Looks amazing and sounds delicious! Would love a nice little orchard in my world. I mean just imagine a trip to get groceries means walking out the back door. Nice work and prayers for a bountiful harvest soon. I don’t know if something like honeysuckle or ivy would be a good idea on the fence or if it grows well there. Grapes too maybe a little GubGer Vinyard out there. So many options. Thanks Gubba!

  6. Wow you did such a great job, I hope your trees will produce abundantly for you especially the cherry tree. For me in the south where it is warmer and easier to grow cherries, they still are getting soo pricey at the grocery store!
