  1. Hope you had a great time! Been meaning to ask how you feel about the Vego seed trays? I think I saw you use them once.

  2. I love your enthusiasm for gardening and enjoy sharing in all your latest projects! I am excited to be trying some 'Zowie Yellow Flame' zinnias for the first time this year. The seeds just sprouted a couple of days ago. Each bloom is a rainbow of colors with yellow edges, then orange and pink towards the center.

  3. I LOVE ZINNIAS โค .. last year was my 2nd year to grow them..I cant believe I never grew them before.. but they are gorgeous and easy and beautiful..love all the colors just makes a garden POP .. thanks Amanda.. love your videos ๐ŸŽ‰

  4. My only complaint about zinnias is how easily they get blight for me. Otherwise they are awesome! I'm south central Texas and they LOVE heat, so they are a great flower here!
This is one of three flowers I would recommend to grow for beginners. So easy!! Larkspur and cosmos are pretty easy also. Cosmos ALWAYS reseeds for me, even after one season! ๐Ÿ˜„

  5. Love this video. I currently have queen lime orange and blush growing but hadn't thought about doing multiple seedings. I have the same seed containers but never thought about putting water in the tray. We are having delightful cool weather on the east coast but trapped inside due to smoke from Canadian wildfires. Perfect day to start new set of seedlings indoors.

  6. Thanks for the amazing video on Zinnias, I love Zinnias. I like the Magellan zinnias for border plants, they have the large 4-6 inch blooms but don't grow taller than 18 inches ๐Ÿ˜Š

  7. Your bouquets were beautiful. I was lucky enough to get two zinnia plants this year. It seems like everyone was also getting them. Maybe I'll order seeds next time. Can't wait to see mine multiple over the years

  8. I love zinnias, probably because it is really easy to be successful with just a handful of seeds. I told my husband a couple of months ago, "Remind me I don't need any more zinnia seeds." His response: "But there might be some you don't have!" I've got zinnias, dahlias and salvia ready to go in the ground, but we are having such an extended spring here in zone 7B N MS that the poppies, bachelors buttons, nigella and larkspur are still blooming and I can't bear to pull them up (although I need that spot!). I start Persian Carpet zinnias in mid to late July for fall bloom. Aztec Sunset and Jazzy Mix are also good colors for fall, and cosmos Rubenza. My reseeded zinnias never come back as the original variety: they're always pink. At my old house and my mom's, they always came back orange. I'm trying 'Inca' and 'Sungod' this year for late summer-fall bloom.

  9. I have some zinnias I direct sowed that are about to bloom and Iโ€™m so excited! Zinnias are just gorgeous flowers. Thank you for your informative videos as theyโ€™re very helpful.

  10. Thank you. . Your video awas very helpful.I really enjoyed it. And subscribed to see more. I love zinnias
This is the first time that I actually bought a PKG of seeds and grew some.
The first batch didn't get moved under lights soon enough and we're too leggy.
Second batch started under a grow light. They got leggy too. But not as bad.
Yesterday, I planted them deep. Burying most of the stem. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Will this work?
Or should I just plant another batch of seeds outside?

  11. You are not concerned about the seeds in the storage container getting too warm under the heat mat? I always thought it best to keep seeds as cool as possible for storage.

  12. Great video! I'm growing Benarys Giant for the first time this year in SE England – fingers crossed for some warm weather ๐Ÿ˜…
Tip I learned recently is rather than change shelves and lighting, raise the trays up onto other seed trays and place the heat mat in-between — this gives you a lot more flexibility as the seedlings grow to then drop the trays lower

  13. Belated Happy 20th Anniversary! I saved the seeds from my Queen Lime zinnias from last year. I grow them in containers on my deck. Bonny

  14. Hi my sweet friend over here giving love and support you and watching all your beautiful card and videos you have put together love your fairy gardens in your garden videos

  15. Grew Benary Giants a couple of years ago. Just spread seeds into a flower bed. I was so astounded at how tall they got…6ft ! Had butterflies galore! Trying new ones out this year.

  16. Ok, I'm going to be the spoiler in this love fest on zinnias. First, let me admit, I live on an acre where almost the entire perimeter is lined with 50+ year old trees. So my "full" sun situation is questionable.
Second, this is my 3rd attempt at growing zinnias and this year has been the most challenging. The seedlings I planted out early May (Zone 7, Maryland) have been taken over by some bug, but I never see them on the plants. So out of 24 plants, I think 4 or 5 have grown beyond 4 or 5", the others are gone. I even tried direct sowing unsuccessfully. I started another 24 and just planted them out yesterday, so fingers crossed.
I think if I really want to be successful, I'm going to need to consider moving some plants that might give me a space with a little more sunlight. Having said that, I have put my sunflowers in the most sun in my yard and they seem to be more successful.
    It's not that I don't like zinnias, I think they don't like my conditions.๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜

  17. I love your grow light set up. It looks like regular shelving. I havenโ€™t want to go there yet because most set ups look so industrial and messy. I donโ€™t have a good place in my house to hide it. But yours is beautiful!!! Thanks for the inspiration!

  18. Amanda, wow, this was power packed video! Great info that I never would have known. Yours always are stunning!
Do you ever have problems with snails or any other pests that bother your zinnias? Something ate all of mine up! ๐Ÿ˜ข Linda

  19. I found the profusion zinnias were harder to germinate than the giants. I just saw a 6-pack cell of profusions for $6.99 at my grocery store and now I wonder why I tried to grow from seed๐Ÿ˜‚

  20. Loving this content,do you have a video on propagating existing plants, such as petunias, coleus, etc?

  21. I didnโ€™t know your cruise was for such a special occasion! Congratulations and many more wonderful years! Enjoyed this video and thanks for the info that is it almost never to late this to start them, except winter. I think about it every week and donโ€™t because I think it might be too late. A friend gave me Queen Lime Orange seedlings last year, my first time to grow zinnias. Wow, was I impressed with them. Great slide show photos! Loved the first one of you with the red/pink basket! ๐Ÿฅฐ As usual, great info and inspiration. My Queen Lime didnโ€™t reseed but Iโ€™m going plant seeds now and just see what happens. I saved a lot of the dried blooms just for this purpose. Thank you!!

  22. This is my first year growing zinnias. Absolutely love them. Just planted Persian carpet as well. Iโ€™m in zone 9b and it is really dry right now. Been watering every day but they look fantastic. So glad you did a video on zinnias. Great content. Thanks.

  23. Hi Amanda, this was just the video I needed to see. I have some Queenie seeds that I want to get started but this is my first year of seed starting flowers so I totally appreciate your detailed information. I was afraid I had waited too long to get them going and missed the boat but now I see I have not, YEA! The pictures of your harvested flowers were beautiful and impressive!

  24. You do such a great job with your videos! The photos of all the different zinnias through this video was so inspiring and has me wanting to go buy seeds.

  25. Love this video Zinnias are my go to flower yo grow from seed I have a bouquet in my house every day in the summer I have planted many of the same varieties as you Today my lettuce bed is past itโ€™s prime so I ripped them out and planted more zinnias I have planted zinnias 3 times this year!! B

  26. Do you place the seed flat or pointy end first into the soil. I was hoping you would show how you do it, but you fast forwarded it so I couldnโ€™t tell how you did it. I love zinnias also.

  27. I just planted a bunch of zinnias seeds outside. Love zinnias! One of my favorite flowers. Love the new varieties you planted. Canโ€™t wait to see them grow and bloom in your garden. Thanks for all the information.

  28. Zinnias are a favorite of mine too. And I've been trying to grow more veggies this year so I have neglected broadcasting my zinnia seeds. But maybe it's not too late? I did have a zinnia elegant volunteer crop up and is blooming profusely in a bed where I have a Japanese Yew, Limelight hydrangea, and a gorgeous oak leaf hydrangea. Unfortunately, my beautiful oak leaf hydrangea bit the dust and I cannot determine why. One day it was gorgeous and blooming and the very next day it was dried up and gone! It was the third year for it and I was so upset about it. What in the world could have killed it? The only thing I can think of is we hired Weedex to help with our disappearing St. Augustine here in the North Texas area. Could whatever they sprayed killed my oakleaf hydrangea? I have been so upset about it but I know I have to move on. But should I plant another one and pray and not let Weedex in my back yard? I an do without the grass! LOL. Just not my hydrangeas. Interestingly, the Limelight hydrangea about two feet from it is just fine. Do you have any clues for me, Amanda? Sorry, I know this is about Zinnias. Those I don't have too much of an issue with — so far. But thanks for your always helpful and inspiring videos!

  29. TFS. I live in Houston, my neighbor has always had zinnias. I had them several years ago, Iโ€™m going to go back to them because of this video
