The First Potato & Strawberry Harvests in the Garden

In todays episode, me and cheryl, a fellow plot holder and friend plant out the dahlias, echinacea’s and gladiolas from @farmergracy8901 , We also planted all the other summer plants. I collected some bark from the allotment dump area. The local tree surgeons leave it for us for free! we are so lucky! I created some more paths and planted up all the hostas. I purchased some ornamental grasses and ferns for around the nature pond. The gardens are needing to be watered twice a day at the moment due to the baking sun! The polytunnel is slowly emptying and will soon be fully planted up with tomatoes. I’ve decided to plant the Roma tomatoes outside this year. It will soon be time to harvest the over wintering onions. A lot have bolted this year, which was such a shame! It will also be time to harvest the garlic on both gardens. This will give more space for the courgettes , squashes and pumpkins. I added a sail to the growing space to shade myself when the sun is beating down on the garden. The fig and olive plot is almost finished and i am so proud of how its transformed from an overgrown, shady and unloved area to a jungle of flowers and food!
