It seems the step up from #picturesoritdidnthappen would be #videosoritsnotreal – when I saw that @davesairplantcorner had the Oxalis palmifrons, I just had to see it in person! During my visit, I got to see the plant and a myriad of other botanical treasures, which I will post about at regular intervals. He got it on eBay as a bulb a few months ago. When it first sprouted, Dave described the plant as looking a bit messy. It wasn’t until several more stems emerged that the palmifrons took on its beautiful radial pattern. These days, the plant lives under a grow light receiving 900 foot-candles – I’m not sure how long he keeps it on but I assume it’s 8-12 hours.
