  1. Hey Gena! Love your butterfly garden! One tip for you….get rid of that couple of inches of grass between the garden and the fence, otherwise it will end up being a weedy nightmare.

  2. Hey again! As you can tell, I am commenting while still watching. Although the butterfly bush gets quite large, it doesn't mind being chopped. I had one and cut it back hard every year to keep it a size that I liked.

  3. Maybe you already know that Butterfly Weed and Hoya are ‘Milkweeds’?
Asclepiadaceae family in the plant kingdom is commonly known as the “Milkweed Family”.

Asclepius (Latin) is a hero and god of medicine in ancient Greek religion and mythology.

Butterfly Weed ((Asclepius) is a milkweed
Hoya is in the Milkweed Family as well.

  4. Oh Gena, what a beautiful garden!! I bet you can't wait for all of the beautiful butterflies to find your garden. I just love it.
    Thank you for sharing it.

  5. Hi Gena, I am over the moon with your butterfly garden. You did a fabulous job. You picked a lot of great plants. Please keep us posted with the growth progress. Thank you and have a fabulous week. Much love ❤️

  6. I love your butterfly garden, I love butterflies and humming birds, I think I am going to plant some flowers in my yard to attract more butterfly and humming birds in my yard. Yours looks beautiful 😍

  7. Love the garden! 💚 Here’s something from my experience – Living in Maryland, we’ve always grown Black Eyed Susan because it’s the state flower. It’s a beautiful plant but beware – it is invasive and will take over your garden if you let it! 🪴

  8. Hi, Gena! Your garden looks beautiful! Love the butterfly puddler! How thoughtful of you to give them a rock too! When I lived in CT I had a flower garden with a lot of your choices, like Russian sage, phlox, black-eyed Susan, coneflowers, bee balm, salvia and coreopsis (you’re going to love this prolific bloomer!). Since moving to NH, I mainly have planted annuals but I do have roses, phlox, salvia, hydrangeas, and delphiniums (stunning blue flowers). I bet my Hoya was one of the plants you mentioned shipping; she arrived healthy and oh so cute. I love her! Your package was so special too with the note, clips and stickers (the rainbow above the shipping label made me smile from ear to ear). Thank you!

  9. This was a wonderful video I enjoyed going to. The store? With. You and seeing? You pick out some Really great plants. I have never heard of a butterfly puddler so it was Very interesting to see you put one together now. I want to do one for our area. Your butterfly bush is the same color As the one we have in the corner of our yard. I have put butterfly weed end every year and it doesn't come back for me. I can't wait to see yours growing and feeling over the years. Thank you for the interesting video.😊😊😊

  10. How cool that you wore that cute shirt with butterflies and dragonflies on it to plant your butterfly garden. I loved this video. I’ve always wanted a butterfly garden but never lived anywhere I could have one, so I will just enjoy watching your updates on it. 😊. I never heard of a ladybug house. Is there something in it that draws them to it? I love ladybugs. 🌱💚🌱🦋

  11. Hi, Gena! Cant wait to see your butterfly garden once its established!! You are so energetic!! Wishing AWAY any hail headed your way!!👍👏❤️🌱🪴🌱🪴

  12. Very pretty! You should also look into creating an area utilizing a few ‘host’ plants for butterflies to lay their eggs on. Nectar is great, but they also need a place to lay eggs for future generations. 💚✨🦋. Look forward to updates as the season goes on!
