Hey folks!
I didn’t quite finish my desert garden tour the other day because I didn’t show you all of the food in my front yard landscaping! For some reason…these plants are doing SO much better than the ones in the bean plot on the east side of the homestead. I’m not certain if it’s the partial shade they are getting or if they really like poor soil…but…I’m happy they are thriving!
I also need your help with a MASSIVE bug problem we have here on the property. They come every year and you might know them as black flies, biting midges, nor no-see-ums. But they are driving me and my chickens crazy, and I would love for you to comment down below if you have a remedy for these nasty little pests.

Looks like two watermelons in the front.
Yeah where I live in Albuquerque there are lots of no see ums. I sometimes spray the ground with Cedarcide. Available online. YouTube has been advertising them like crazy.
I can’t stand the mosquitoes and the biting gnats. I’v tried everything. I have to have a fan on high just to sit on my deck. The fan keeps them off of me for the most part. When I’m anywhere else in the yard or garden, I have not found anything that works. I am planting mint around the chickens and other plants that mosquitoes don’t like. I need to wrap myself in a citronella plant lol. It’s crazy. I hope someone has solutions for you ❤
