Container Gardening

Do This NOW To Turbocharge Your Container Garden!

In this video, I share everything you need to do to grow an incredible container garden! Growing a container garden successfully is a game of resource management, because container gardens are limited to what you provide them. They cannot survive without us, so we must treat them right. These 5 steps are things you should do now to turbocharge your container garden for the best gardening season ever!

Remember, growing plants in containers is not a natural process. We need to grow container gardens differently than we would grow a garden in soil. I treat my container garden very different than my raised bed garden. When you understand the mindset behind gardening in containers, it makes it a lot easier to achieve fantastic success!

  2. I use the water from my de-humidifier (about 10 gal. a week) to water my 10 vegetable containers.

  3. I've been using your Alaskan 511 and Jacks 10-30-20 recipe this year's in both my beds and containers. Great results so far.

  4. I appreciate your dedication and knowledge. But that's more than $100 for just the water soluble fertilizers. And sorry, but that's way out of my budget. I do a OTC popular all purpose water soluble fertilizer for all my veges (all in containers) every week. It's worked well for me so far. Love your videos

  5. Do you have certain plants you use the green drippers on and certain plants you use the blue drippers on? Thank you for what you do, your videos are incredibly helpful!

  6. Also, when you use the 10-30-20 at time of bloom, do you use this just once or a couple times, or as long as the plant has blooms? (I posed this question on another video but then closed an cannot find so apologies if this question has already been answered!)

  7. Wow that’s a lot of fertilizing. I’m new to gardening and didn’t realize I’m starving my plants. Barely got any harvest last year, no wonder.

  8. Great informative video. I didn't think about different mulch for different planting, ground vs. containers, makes sense. I can't lift a 5 gallon bucket repeatedly to liquid fertilize. I use my gallon milk/water jugs, mix several, put on my garden cart, and go around the garden. Thanks again for many different perspectives on growing food. 👍

  9. Thank you for this very informative video. I have to grow everything in containers because of gophers. I have already purchased Fish Emulsion and Miracle Gro All Purpose Plant Food 24-8-6. Can I mix the two of these together to use as my fertilizer every two weeks? I will be fertilizing tomatoes, peppers, melons, squashes, cabbage, fennel, and kale. Thanks again.

  10. Your fig trees have large healthy trunks 😮
That just amazing to me!! Have a great day. 👵🏻👩‍🌾❣️

  11. Thank you MG! You always have the best information to help gardeners! 👍Dale is always the cutest too😊

  12. This is excellent information. I watched it twice to reinforce it, and I saved it for future reference.

  13. Mulch the weeds to feed the soil and shade new weeds. But hey those pots are way too small or those trees are way too big! Start a tree yeah but not keep. Like a sapling in a grow bag inside of a pot, they're cute and vulnerable when they're little but you can' keep them in pens.

  14. If you could take your best guess, when would be the best month of the year to hit the big box stores to try to find fertilizer on clearance? I've never seen it on clearance before, but then again, I'm not usually in Home Depot or Lowes in the garden dept in the fall and winter.

  15. I’ve grown container vegetables x 2 Seasons now and have watched many YouTube “gardeners” for information during that time. This year, I found you here….and let me say you are the best. You are a good presenter: well organized, stay on track, get to the point quickly and give relevant information.
