Inside Nina Campbell’s Eclectic Chelsea Townhouse | Design Notes

Interior designer Nina Campbell, the winner of our Lifetime Achievement Award for 2023, welcomes us into her colourful home based in Chelsea, London. Nina shows us around her London townhouse — affectionately referred to as ‘The Hut’ — which is nestled away from the whirlwind rush that is Fulham Road.

Nina’s abode is a small but perfectly formed space filled with art and colour, alongside her own designs for textiles, wallpaper and furniture. All of the best-loved characteristics of Nina’s interiors are present, from the monograms on the pillowcases to the unexpected use of colours such as the acid green that runs through the living spaces. Watch the full episode of Design Notes, as we tour Nina Campbell’s Chelsea townhouse that is filled with character.

  1. Outstanding and stunning. It's very pleasing and comfortable.
Rita Konig isher daughter btw, love her work also.

  2. Wonderful and love the fact the dogs are on the furniture. Every room is both elegant and comfortable.

  3. Eclectic…in a very bad way. I don’t see what people see in this, to be honest. I honestly don’t.

  4. This a lovely house for a mature person, classic with a modern twist here and there, and very comfortable. This is a space you can easily modernize every 10 years or so, without changing much, curtains, cushions a bit of paint or wallpaper…brilliant!

  5. I love the sense of freedom and fun by mixing styles and making a space feel like it's full of friends and personal history, which is the difference between a house and a home.

  6. All my Bibelots are Sentimental and Loved! I moved overseas far from Family in the early 1990s, so over the years I've amassed quite a few handmades , gifts and Mom's crochets and knits❤. I cherish all my 'stuff'!😊

  7. When I win the lottery I would like to get Nina Campbell to design my house, as I think everything she does is just perfect and everything is so well thought out. So fingers crossed 🙂

  8. Beautiful bed linens. 😌 You can not imagine how much ironing that takes with cotton sheets. I ironed mine once then never again.😵‍💫 I would imagine Nina has them professionally pressed.

  9. This is a beautiful home, collected and personal with history. Not like the trendy staged homes that do not stand the test of time.
