How we are making RHS Chelsea Flower Show more sustainable | Royal Horticultural Society

At the RHS, we’re working hard to be more sustainable, and this includes at our world famous Flower Shows. After Chelsea Flower Show 2023, all the Gardens will be living on in one form or another. Find out some of the things our garden designers are doing to be more sustainable.

We also make sure nothing goes to landfill, all power at the show is supplied by renewable sources and we switched to biofuel generators saving 50,000kg of CO2 (200,000kg across the shows). RHS Chelsea is also a great platform to promote sustainable gardening and ways growing plants and gardening can help our planet, which has been a key theme for many years now. 1. The Chelsea flower show seems like a yuppies thing. There aren't any ordinary people there, just posh people that are loaded all congratulating each other about how great the gardens are.
