So a little over a month ago I planted a strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, and raspberry bush (and some lavender to try and keep the rabbits away).

All the plants have been doing great (I was only checking on them every once and a while), but a few weeks ago I noticed a lot of the Raspberry bushes leves had died. For the last 2 weeks or so I started watering them at least every other day with miracle grow, but haven’t seen any improvement with the raspberry bush.

Can it still be saved? I am open to any advice.

Definitely can be saved, but maybe won’t do well in that spot. They’re kinda picky, tend to like well drained soil, love a bit of shade (one of the only plants I’ve found that thrives under walnuts), and do strangely well with weeds around. I think the last is similar to the shade bit, insulates them from weather, pests, extreme heat/cold/dry weather. Every time I’ve obsessively cleaned out a black raspberry patch so only canes are there, they wither.

I’d say try adding some shade (maybe a potted plant or bush around), or moving them from the root somewhere with shade. Chances are good they’ll sprout back there if the roots are established, but it seems that’s a new cane. The birds left some in my mom’s flower bed and I dig them up every year and move them, but they always come back. They like where they like, and are almost weeds at that point!

Oh also don’t over fertilize. Every other day with miracle grow is way way way too much. Two or three times a year max. Berries like a bit of sulfur, too, I believe. Check your ph and moisture content with a cheap probe, if you can grab one.

Yeah I feel like they’re just getting too hot. Shade them in the afternoon and they should be happy again

Really the roots are what you need to keep alive. Stop with the miracle grow, cut the canes down to a few inches long, water regularly, and in a month you should get new growth.
