I'm near Daytona, and the weather has been crazy too. I lost half my Bonnie best tomatoes to cutworm because I wasn't prepared. But still got dozens of good tomatoes. ✌️
Are you actually able to grow squash successfully without it being attacked by vine borers?
Get a bird bath. That stopped critterd from eating my tomatoes
I have heavy deer pressure, you could try scented dryer sheets, deer don't like the smell, neither do gnats. I hang one in each fruit tree, if the gnats start trying to fly in my nose, ears and eyes I pin one on my collar and they won't come near me.
I guess at least you're fattening up the deer, so you're growing meat by planting 🫘
Get an old pair of tube socks and cut off the foot part and just wear the tubes between your gloves and long sleeves. Remember to strip down and wash everything (gloves included) after being in poison ivy before going into the house. The oil will stay on your clothes. I use Tecnu to scrub it off and Ivarest cream to dry it out.(several times a day). I use ORTHO Ground Clear Poison Ivy when I see it emerge, (I get it at Home Depot) and it goes in and kills the root. Last but not least, put it far away from the house and IF you burn it, don't inhale the fumes or it will attack your lungs. Good Luck!
Great job turning it around to focus on the positives and all the blessings. Gardening can be very challenging sometimes. We've been battling nematodes for two seasons and now soil that was too dense. 🙁
Once we realized we had nematodes, I was really upset with all the work that I had put in but decided to turn it around and figure out what would grow with nematodes. I had a very successful harvest. ❤️
What variety are your tomatoes? And wow! Those collards are gorgeous!
