Front Yard Garden

Uncovering the Secrets of My Suburban Backyard Orchard! #zone7

Welcome to my suburban backyard orchard, located on central Vancouver Island in British Columbia Canada (zone 7-8). It’s the end of April and we are well into spring. In today’s video I’m giving you a complete tour of all my fruit trees in the food forest. My yard is 8000 square feet total (including the land where the house is built). I have 1 cherry, 1 plum, 4 fig, 1 peach, 2 nectarine, and
2 apple trees in my fruit tree collection. 11 trees total! I hope to educate anyone interested in planting fruit trees that even on a small to moderate sized property you can produce ALOT of food.

Check out this playlist if you love figs!

  1. Beautiful tour lisa.😊😊i love to find a dwarf nectarine as well but i was told i need to get 2 variety of nectarine inorder to get fruits

  2. I love your peach blossoms too! We have a 30 year old Stella cherry that spring back to life once we started keeping mason bees nearby. Do you have mason bee houses, Lisa? I have two fig trees in my greenhouse and one outdoors. The ones in my greenhouse are fruiting right now and should be ready to pick in a month. They are threatening to outgrow my greenhouse, so we will have to prune them pretty heavily this year to keep them short enough!
