Need Some Garden Design Inspiration? I HAVE THE PLANS FOR YOU! This Video Is Filled With Easy Ideas

Welcome to “Collie And The Gardener!” Sometimes planning out a garden feels overwhelming. I hope my video helps give you the confidence to design a garden using companion planting that maximizes space and harvest potential. It is important to make it beautiful and productive to feed my family, but give me a place to find peace.

It is a lot of space, but I am able to manage it with the help of my kiddos, because it is organized. That being said, it is filled with family friendly ideas. I structure my garden in rows that allow for easy harvest, and creating an environment that will allow for each plant’s success. It is a design that I can easily change with the seasons or quickly alter if we decide to try planting something new.

My small orchard allows me to harvest plums, nectarines, apricots, mulberries, persimmon, and peaches. Daniel has helped me prune my trees, and we posted tips and tricks for your backyard orchard. He grafted these trees for me, and I am excited to share the success! These grafts are taking off, and they will allow me to increase my fertility, increase the variety of fruit we are picking, and lengthen my harvest time. Thank you Daniel!

Of course, who could forget the real stars, my chickens and Rory, our collie. The flock is functional, (my cholesterol is probably off the charts), aside from the eggs; I need them to clear my weeds and compost. Rory is my beautiful boy that provides me constant companionship, and keeps those pesky critters away. He has this natural ability do something silly when least expected, so unfortunately I haven’t taped all of his silly business yet!

We have so many more videos ahead with updates, tricks, and most importantly how we use, cook, and process the bounty to preserve and enjoy all year!
