  1. Its unfortunate situation, sorry to see, perhaps raised beds will fix the issue ?

  2. I'm back for a second comment. I actually feed crows and the reason is, they know I put out food (mostly bread) and EXACTLY where I consistently put it. They come THERE to eat and leave everything else be.
I built a counter-weighted table mounted on a lowerable counter-weighted tower, so I can easily lower it to replenish food and water. Yes, there's a stainless steel bowl of water up there for them too. Works great.

  3. Sorry about your plant's. Have you ever tried " Self heal / All heal ? I live in Upper east Tennessee.and the plants grow best around the last of June to through July Here. A slope can make for a hard place to grow, though we have to do what we have to do. So to speak. Has always I liked and shared. All my very best.

  4. Hello m'Lovely Lady. I'm not going to tell you what you should or should not do. I can tell you my observations. There are too many irons in your fire. There's a point in our lives, like a dwarf fruit tree, when extreme pruning is required. I got to a point that my shed, garage, basement & house storage areas became dysfunctional. I had plans for everything but there was too much on my plate. I had to become a minimalist. Even my mind was too busy to keep track. You're tuff but must be tuff enough to prune. All my best juju to you. 💪💖♎🌎⛵🇺🇸

  5. Gardening can be so awesome at the same time so devastating it makes you cry. I am growing some corn in large containers to see how it does and last year they got about 2 ft tall so I am hopeful. You have had many great successes and this year will be no different just keep going. Sending prayers that the next planting of corn will be the final one that grows. Many blessings always..

  6. Sorry your gardens have suffered set back from rains. I’m sure it’s frustrating, and disheartened, after the work and planning.

  7. Oh Kay, I am so sorry. So much work. I have had to replant corn and Okra because only about half came up. The rain has been insane. Makes you wonder what is really going on??? I broke down and bought a 16 X 25 high tunnel. It's arriving tomorrow. I found them very reasonable from a company in TN called Farmers Friend. It looks fairly easy to put up. Mine was $3200. for everything, but I bought a doored end panel that was a little pricey. You can save a $1,000.00 by getting the zippered end panel. They have great reviews and lost of easy video's to follow. I hope you catch a break.

  8. i would wait to see if corn comes up after being uncovered. seems like the seeds have a better chance with more sun on them

  9. I just installed 2 -50 gallon rain barrels in my little yard. Planted everything, just waiting for rain. A bit dry here in Central Kentucky.

  10. Sometimes gardening can be so frustrating, but know the alternative is doing nothing and not having those wonderful successful harvests we love so much. I tried planting beets this Spring, and they have failed miserably, but so far, just about everything else is doing well here. Lesson learned – I'll plant beet in the Fall!

Your run off problem is definitely a challenge. Keep researching – you'll find a way to deal with it. LOL, I also think you need to make at least one or two really nice scare crows. How do your neighbors that have gardens deal with them?

And I don't know about you, but bug pests have been terrible this year, especially aphids. I've already started spraying Spinosad and BT, and will continue to every 7 to 10 days. Keep an eye out, especially on your peas and beans.

  11. You gotta love, Mother Nature..! everything is looking green and beautiful. No need to fret over the flour corn, plenty of time! Although aggravating.. it looks as though the onions are doing great 💚 Thanks for the update Kaye!

  12. Wow. Y'all had a lot more rain than we did. Barely heard the rain on my steel roof lol. Sorry about your loses. Beautiful place you have Kaye.

  13. Wow….lots of rain….it’s like either praying for it, or praying it stops….you work so hard Kaye….Bless your heart. It looks so beautiful, green and lush. You do great work…♥️
