Christianson’s Nursery and Greenhouse Tour! :: Skagit Valley Tulip Festival!

Welcome gardeners! This week my mom and I decided to go on an impromptu trip to the Skagit Valley in Washington State for the Tulip Festival! Today’s weather wasn’t the best but we didn’t mind because we were headed to see the famous Christianson’s Nursery and it did not dissapoint!🌷Enjoy!

“She sprouted love like flowers, grew a garden in her mind, and even on the darkest days, from her smile the sun still shined.” — Erin Hanson

Thank you to Christianson’s Nursery for permission to film in your amazing location! I hope to be back with an empty suitcase next time! 😉

  1. Hi Janey 🌺 thanks of the wonderful tour in this nursery the plants looks so beautiful . Happy birthday to your daughter 🎂and have awonderful day .🌺🌻🌺

  2. Ok this is DEFINITELY on my list of nurseries to visit now. So beautiful! I was trying to read the tag for one of the plants in center of the hanging baskets, it had beautiful chartreuse leaves, looked like a geranium maybe? Do you remember which variety it was?

  3. Thank you for the great tour of Christianson's! Rhododendrons are so easy to grow here in western Washington. The flowers are beautiful in the spring and don't require a lot of care. Same with azaleas. The Pacific rhododendron is the official flower of the state of WA. No surprise that gardeners grow so many rhodies here!

  4. I probably would’ve dumped out my suitcase and stuffed all I could fit from that green house in there! Beautiful houseplants! 💚😍🪴 What a propagation dream! Amazing place!

  5. Also, floret flower lives here. Her farm isn’t open to the public but it might be fun to do a drive by! ❤

  6. I saw the title of you video today and I clicked on it not realizing it was "you"…Dig, Plant, Water, Repeat. I jiust wanted to say what a completely wonderful showing you gave of Christianson's! I'm in the PacNW and we do take it for granted, all the lush and abundant nurseries we have in our area. I love to get to Mt. Vernon and a few other towns north of Seattle as they really have the room to spread out and give the full inventory of what these Nurseries have to offer. Well done! thank you.

  7. We are traveling to Seattle in September from So Cal. We are flying and now I wonder if we should make the drive. We drove last year to northern California/southern Oregon and thought this year we would fly and explore Washington and northern Oregon. I talked the boys into going to Swan Island Dahlia farm which is just south of Portland in exchange for a baseball game in Seattle. It is always challenging when flying and we want to bring back these beautiful finds. Loved the video and the beautiful tulips. Thank you so much for sharing such a special time with your mom.

  8. That was the largest nursery I've ever seen and so quaint. Like you, I love the style of mixed baskets they put together. Thanks for sharing the tips you learned from the women making them. It was enought info for me to try making one. I hope you make one too.

  9. ahhh! Thank you for taking us in this incredible trip! it is so so inspiring and interesting to see what nurseries are out there! Love it!

  10. Beautiful! I cut tulips for 10 cents a bundle as a job when I was 13 years old in a nearby town! We wore yellow rain gear because it rained so much, we thought we looked like big bananas! What a nice trip to take with your mom!

  11. Ah, you discovered the NW classic cedar basket😊. I am so glad you like Christianson's. It's the place we go to treat ourselves. They have many plants you can't find in the Seattle area and they have better prices.

  12. Will you be bringing the hat back to your store Janey? I hope so. Happy Birthday to your Mom!

  13. Thank you for the great tour with you & mom . What a beautiful trip love everything. Such a blessing to enjoy trip with mom. ❤

  14. So glad to see you and your Mom spending quality time in such beautiful places. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. 🥰

  15. When my Mom and Dad would go on motorcycle road trips they would mail things they wanted back home. I still lived with them and would find packages daily. My Great Aunt would fly to see us and if she found something she wanted she would ship it to here Daughter’s house so it would not be on her porch. Happy birthday to your beautiful Mom.

  16. The hanging baskets anywhere in the Seattle area are stunning. They are hung along main streets, not just homes. The weather is so mild that these baskets spill over where you can no longer see the container. Another great nursery is Molbak's. One of only two great garden shows on the Westcoast is the Seattle Flower and Garden show held annually in February. It is something else and in a great location with lots to do.

  17. I hope you went to mow back in Woodinville it’s a beautiful greenhouse it looks like you had a great time with your mom❤

  18. Great place. I also love to go visit other garden locations. Thank you Janey for the wonderful trip you shared with your mom

  19. I also visited Christianson’s nursery, but in the fall when we were headed through to some Dahlia festivals. Such an awesome place to spend several hours looking at the beautiful things. Would love to visit again in spring when their plants are in full supply.

  20. OMG Janey, next time stop at a mail center and send those nursery souvenirs home 😅
I once brought 3 bare root roses and a sack of hellebore one gallons home on a plane from garden shows!!

  21. Why didn’t you just buy them and send them to yourself through the mail. You could of got the fragile items sticker and prayed/hoped for the best.
