  1. I remember playing with this plant as a kid, I never knew it's edible untill now

  2. You are able to get so much growth from what appears to be a relatively small area. I am curious what is the dimensions of your garden area? Also, do you travel to Vietnam very often? What times of the year do you prefer to go if you do travel ?

  3. Gelatinous textures are a little gross. Also, just a heads up, it turns out that there are dwarf apple trees that we can grow in zone 10. Especially if you live in a humid area like I do. There is a large research nursery in Southern cali that has hundreds of fruiting varieties of apples. It would be incredible if you were to do video tour of it. I can find the name of the extension center that's running these tests if you're interested

  4. Any of you gardeners that live in Hawaii must not import cuttings from this vine. It is another invasive species, and while it is edible, it can take over our mountain forests if a bird grabs a vine to build a nest and takes it to the bottom of the foothills of their nesting area.

  5. The aerial tubers are fascinating. It dies sound like a prime candidate for an invasive in the right place. Right now I have two or three things with "getting out of hand" potential…you seem better at keeping it all in check that I am 😅

  6. It reminds me of this vine I've encountered in Oklahoma. Saw briar or greenbriar. I'm not sure if you can eat the leaves the texture looks similar, but they can have nasty thorns

  7. I grow it mainly for the aerial bulbils. Edible. I’ve eaten them in soups, boiled and fried, they’re tasty in all forms. I’m ignorant when it comes to traditional medicine, but laboratory analyses found that the plant is rich in ancordin, a heat-stable (¿survives cooking?) metabolic precursor to nitric oxide. Nitric oxide, in turn, was found to help heal certain brain lesions.

  8. Cattle panels can deliver? the 16' long ones? I was going to get a big truck to get them at TSC. I need some in a few months!

  9. Thanks Wendi, i definitely have to add one to the garden. Surprisingly, it seems to grow very similar to Fo Ti/Elixir of Life but much more bountiful. I think i may grow them both up opposite ends of the same trellis to compare. Keep up the awesome videos!
